Alpha and Omega
This paladin poll is going to be controversial. For one, it lacks a couple of the more obvious choices. I will just say in advance that they did not meet either activity requirements or skill requirements. I also included two very strong EU choices - the votes on that are sure to be split down the middle, or at least, I think so? Anyway, make sure to read the descriptions to help educate you, and don't cry too hard over omissions. Or you can be like Mocha and notify everyone that you are boycotting and pretend that anyone cares. Thanks!
Blirz: Along with his compatriots Koncentrate and Sylvatic, Blirz is one of the mainstay holy paladins of TC. Out of those three, he alone has been granted entry to this list by virtue of his consistency. Blirz has always been pretty highly regarded as a holy paladin in 19s, spamming those flashes of light and holy shocks.
Daedricdeath: Say what you will, Daedric (rumored to be the elusive Devildwarfer) has come a long way. In addition to being a solid healer in the gulch, he has led his guild <Warsong Warlords> to some level of notoriety. After many long months of being farmed in the alliance graveyard, they have more recently been seen containing the horde graveyard against no-name horde teams. The tables have turned.
Dirtyauction: A legend out of the past, DA has returned in MoP to teach the bracket how to play paladin. He has teamed up with Abigail and Uraflamer to carry on the WT tradition of dominating Warsong Gulch pugs. DA is so sure of his abilities that he has been known to grant free caps to the alliance just to show his worth to his team.
Eliot: It is with some uncertainty that I include Eliot in this poll after his shaman was so soundly defeated in that class’s poll. However, if anyone deserves a second chance, it is the guy who beat Pizza in a 1v1 during Wrath and posted the SS over 9000 times to prove it.
Fhayr: Last year, Fhayr narrowly lost out to Idiote, who did not meet the unique blend of activity and skill that was required for inclusion in this winter’s poll. Now back once again, Fhayr seeks to prove himself as the paladin to beat. I personally know him for having formerly had one of the neatest signatures ever seen on TwinkInfo. However, my sources in Europe tell me that he has excellent positioning, rarely dies, always keeps his team alive, and has good use of cooldowns.
Minitonka: Not too much can be said here – you either know Minitonka, or you don’t. I remember the last time 19s got AB pops, Tonka ran up to the alliance-infested lumbermill in prot FC gear and soaked up a good 6-7 peoples’ damage while a few of us on horde killed them all. This guy is like a force of nature in the gulch. His speed pots are clutch, his FCing is creative, and the morale he provides is invaluable.
Myrm: Much like Blirz in TC, Myrm beat out paladins such as Oneidwilly to be granted LS’s entry to this contest. Out of everyone on this list, Myrm probably has it hardest in the gulch, as he has an additional role – he must herd Browntown back to the alliance base, lest he get lost in midfield while FCing and charge toward the horde base. I can respect someone who queues up knowing that they have that level of responsibility.
Paladinlol: This guy has slowly risen from obscurity to find a sort of notoriety. Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure he is in LS, giving them a surprising two entries. While he does not have to herd Brown through the gulch, so far as I've seen, that has only served to let him prove himself as a dynamic healer and flag carrier. It is this versatility of his, not relying on others to do the dirty work, that has granted him entry to this poll.
Phonebook: Phonebook gets this year’s second EU nomination for the paladin poll. He has had a longtime presence on TI, and is perhaps the most well-known EU player. He is a great flag carrier, and has good awareness. As a last plus, he has shown his ability to play other classes at a high ability level, though that is perhaps irrelevant.
Tence: Tence has been a pretty controversial guy in the gulch. As a longtime solo queuer, he was highly respected, often carrying entire mediocre horde teams on his back. After joining LSFTW, however, politics got to him. In recent times, he has taken heat for being part of Shamrock’s endless healer squad, as well as for supposedly exploiting with the flag. I, for one, do not believe these accusations.
Honorable mentions: Koncentrate, Oneidwilly, Sylvatic, Illegal, anyone else I'm forgetting
