I know this isn't the ideal place to get opinions, but I'm going to ask anyway:

1. What device do you own?
2. Who is your service provider?
3. How much are you paying per month?

I'm planning on buying a new phone within a week, most likely with T-Mobile or Verizon, but I am clueless beyond that.

opinions, suggestions? [US]

1. What device do you own? Voyager, getting the iPhone 5 over Christmas break.
2. Who is your service provider? Verizon
3. How much are you paying per month? I can't be sure. My parents pay for it.

I've been milking my parents so much and I decided I would start paying my own cell phone bills beginning sometime this month.

I was thinking of treating myself to a Motorola Razr HD, but I'd end up paying >$2,400 over a 2 year contract with Verizon (this is excluding the device and taxes) which seems insane, but maybe not if I'm practically paying for a small computer.

Device: iPhone 4S
Provider: AT&T, as the coverage isn't so infamously spotty in Los Angeles
Monthly costs: I'm in the same boat as Pizza, I really can't be sure

I gotta recommend iPhones, since the iMessage feature really cuts costs as far as texting, to the point where the extra ~$200 pays for itself, and they don't break easily if you aren't a moron/unlucky.
