Go Outside Fools
Switched my shammy over to elemental from resto. I have decided to knock people off LM until exalted with the defilers for to tabard. I switched some gear but what else would you guys and gals recommend?

shammy in sig btw

I suggest Astral Shift because when Silenced/locked out you can still use it unlike Stone Bulwark Totem. Also Brilliant Necklace > Thick Broze Necklace unless you consider FCing.

I would give it 8.5/10

You aren't by any means hit capped and using the cloak of the elder would add another 2 hit from the additional 2 spirit it has. Using brilliant necklace would also give more int and spirit in exchange for 2 stam.

This is a moronic question that I could probably just Google, but how would I go about getting the tabard? say I had exalted with Defilers.

Go to arathi and you can purchase it from the AB vendor for some where around 2.5k honor points. The town of hammerfall i think

7/10, get PVE shoulders and Weapon, also use brilliant necklace.

I definitely need brilliant necklace, I'm just so lazy. And I disagree with you on the PVE gear. I rely on survivability quite alot since I can't dish out enough burst to down someone quick and the longer I live the more I can use my utility/wait for TS to come off CD. And I use the feralheart shoulders so I can get both the resilience and some crit. I'm ok with sacrificing a few armor for that.

Yeah I got you with the Hierlooms is a preference type of thing.

Very nice 8/10 you just need brilliant necklace, and maybe engineering goggles for that little extra hit :D

Okay before this gets out of hand, someone needs to justify using Brilliant Necklace over Thick Bronze. Especially with the decreased int benefit due to stat scaling to 24 it just doesn't seem to make sense. Every bit of stam helps.

Edit: Actually most somewhat well know shamans are using Thick Bronze or Scout's Medallion (presumably out of laziness).

ex) doz, dankfury, mindy, biggie, goldendays, onkel, aty, phron etc

The only "nerf" to int due to scalings is in how much spell crit chance an int stat gives (and crit rating gives more crit than int anyways, whatever the level). 1 int gives as much spell power at level 24 as it does at 20, much like 1 agi or 1 str gives the same amount of attack power to a class that uses them, whatever the level of the class in question.

Sure, 2 int=2 spell power is small, but so is 2 stamina=roughly 20 hit points (and one can argue that shaman abilities scale poorly with SP compared to other classes, despite that SP BoA weapons give a noticeable boost for shamans). Furthermore, the 2 spirit=2 hit for ele is still useful for eles trying to play with the current 26% spell miss bugs, or for any pure hit set.

Though, some or most shamans would be inclined to the extra 2 stamina, for slightly longer survivability to make more uses of shaman utilities, most notably being healers/part-time healers among other utilities.
