So after looong time of waiting blizzard finally gave us a response.

Few days ago they said that they are looking into the "issue"
F2P Pet Battle Failure - Forums - World of Warcraft

And bam! As of Oct 12 Its now confirmed that its restricted to F2Ps

I Know we could expect that, they noticed that alot people want pet battles so they brought another thing to get more money.
Only if they wouldnt talk @blizzcon how it will be available to all players,oh wait..we arent players..we are potentional milky cows.
I can imagine they'll restrict whole map, so we can have taste of 1-20lvl locations.
atleast i can sleep with feeling that i spent 8g for nothing but still .. damn that could have been 4 rides from dalaran!

Not surprising... they did state a few days ago that there was an issue with us accessing pet battles, and they fixed it. Idk why people thought fixing it would have meant giving us access to the rest of the pet battle system.


Now go get Pokemon B/W 2, it's much better anyways.

Do you think they discuss trading, making gold, using the Auction House, leveling, etc. as things that aren't available to all players? F2P is WoW Starter Edition. Its not meant to be a full game experience or to be played long-term. Yes, it sucks that f2ps don't get pet battles, but it really wouldn't make sense for them to. Would they have full access to everything in them? If not, the system would need to be reworked to some extent to implement restrictions on trial accounts, which would also complicate the account-wide-ness of it when you're dealing with linked f2p accounts.

I know the post saying it was being looked into seemed promising, but it'd just bring up too many issues to deal with for something that'd be catering solely to the people who aren't paying for their pay-to-play game.

I find it stupid that F2P players can't communicate with high levels, can't whisper unless they whispered first and can't invite people to groups. That blocks alot of communication.
