  • For anyone that has leveled by accident to 20 and opened a ticket or has found themselves sad with the knowledge that a GM doesn't have the power to revert your level...
Fs a druid from the realm ravencrest on EU hit level 90 worlds first today. He was then rolled back to level 87 <----
So blizzard actually do have the power to revert levels?
Anybody know the reason they won't help out people that have accidentally leveled up?

There was someone that leveled 20, And he was rolled back to 19. If I'm right.

There have been severel who got turned back into lvl 19 from 20.. including my self on hunter. The Gm's often don't know much, or choose the lazy reply (sry can't help). But it's not the Gm's who turn you back, It's the more techie workers.
I al also pretty sure it's been mentioned quite sometimes before :s Don't allways just take a gm's word for it.

Iv opened many tickets, yelled at many GMs in-game and on the phone and they all say they cannot de-lvl any of my toons, that leveled up because of them and not me, one felt really bad and gave my alliance main the horde spectral wind rider, so i felt a bit better, but to this day they maintain that they don't have the power to do it.

edit: posted on completely the wrong thread :/
    can't even blame alcohol

    right,
3 years ago my friend was activated burning crusade trial to get socketed outland gears for his lvl60 pally on vanilla account.
you know on trials you are xp capped, cant level up. but somehow he became level61 lol
he opened a ticket, GM reverted his level.

After not playing for a long time I logged on a level 29 holy paladin that ended up having some GF gear and leveled by discovering Stormwind City when I was going to get my XP shut off.

^^^ this only with my 19 mage I made back in vanilla WoW. Has Sargent pvp rank and everything ='(

they rolled many players back one from 90 back to 83, 90 back to 87, many 90's back to 85, armories and achievements proved so, along with players admitting it happened to them on forums and asking why. the ability to roll back is there, they are still done thru contact with or reports to GMs.

my player leveled because they turned on my XP without me knowing about it. players who exploited got rolled back, and not even a ban of any type

i have been going back and forth with them and getting various answers basically having to ask over and over "who has the power to roll players back"

I apologize this happend. The other players are correct, we do not remove XP from a character. However, I did send you 10g for the cost of turning it back off. I can understand the impact that can have. I hope that this helps at least.

    second time

For clarification, we Game Masters are here primarily to assist players with gameplay concerns such as being stuck, deleting items by mistake, and harassment issues. We do not have any hand in implementing changes to the rules or the game itself.

third time, this time they admit a player can be rolled back

the support provided by the Game Master Department is limited to gameplay concerns such as being stuck, deleting items by mistake, and harassment issues.". In rare cases rollbacks are used where exploitation necessitates action in order to maintain a fair and balanced game environment. This is the reason that a rollback in this situation is not a viable option.

okay who do i talk to that has the ability to roll back

We are not at liberty to discuss other players accounts or the specifics of a circiumstance such as one that you've inquired about. I am sorry the inconvience over your character. I can say, that accidently leveling a toon, regardless of the cause, will not be de-leveled or rollback under any cause. It's not about whether we can or not at this point, it that we won't.

you don't have to discuss other peoples accounts, they are being discussed on wow and various other forums. the achieves don't lie, the roll backs are evident, prove is there, ability is there, and can't be denied. actions done in the game which i am told by various GMs don't happen, and they are happening and have happened and can be obviously done. i am told "For clarification, we Game Masters are here primarily to assist players with gameplay concerns such as being stuck, deleting items by mistake, and harassment issues. We do not have any hand in implementing changes to the rules or the game itself." so who does these roll backs? i am getting conflicting answers between different GMs and suggesting otherwise. say it is not possible, then not admitting to what can or can't be done, etc.
i tried calling customer service 3 times today not getting thru, getting recordings referred to twiiter and here

requesting a GM supervisor escalation of my ticket

Though our devs have the power to change character levels this is not a practice that will ever be done in no exploitive times. I understand your concern but there is no going forward with this. The level cannot be removed and will not be removed. Once again though our devs have huge power for the sake of the the games integrity we must deny most request in this case yours. I apologize for the trouble and thank you for your time.

the above was the final answer and ticket was closed and marked as resolved . it appears when needed it's the people in the DEV department have the ability to roll players back most likely thru GM and cheat reports
