Tab Targeting???

Was just wondering if you guys use an other key than tab to target the closest ennemy? I have been using it for a while, but honestly it doest feel confortable at all... especially when strafing. So what do u use and why?

Tab targeting used to work great in wrath, but since cata was released backstrafing and tab targeting dont seem to work correctly. for example whilst backstrafing you tab target to get closest player attacking you, instead you randonly target a player 30yards away.

Seeing as its difficult to click target a player whilst backstrafing its seems that tab targeting is your best option imo, unless your amazingly good/fast at click targetting.

i use tab unless im using naga.

You could just make a macro and keybind it, like:

/targetenemy
/cast autto attack

You can replace the second line with a spell like Hemo if you'd like.

Weird, I am not sure what I do as I never thought about it. If you're like me, I backstrafe constantly- even when its unnecessary. If you insist on targetting something while moving like that, you need to have it timed while you're in the middle of jumping. That is doable. If you're having issues finding it on time etc, you could turn your mouse sensitivity up and then practice with your mouse until you get use to it ( I really wouldn't turn it up through the roof, just a little if you're having this problem).

Or you could just honestly stop backstrafing for a second and mouse target- then business as usual. If you backstrafe enough, it can become easy to maintain direction and switch off of back strafing, for me anyways. But I use to practice backstrafing in circles around people, figure eights, and doing it in straight lines until I got the hang of it... Yes I know, I'm a complete nerd.

I would also suggest using battleground targets to target. From a healing perspective, I've always used a mixture of mouse targeting and raidframe/battlegroundtargets targeting ( what a mouthful ), and that has worked best for me. Uhmmm, in regards to mouseovers, I have a feeling that would be too hard to pull off in addition to backstrafing, I could never abide by it myself, although I think it would be useful for cc.

Long and boring, I know, but those are my thoughts as they pertain to your question.

I also wanted to say, that I cannot really tab target even a single target in duels, without aiming my camera straight at them while back strafing.

I use voice command instead of tab targetting

I have had success with upping my mouse sensitivity to max while also using mouseover macros while still being able to backstafe and heal. At first it feels really weird, but it all depends on where you position your mouse. While I still have tab bound to the default targetting, with mouseovers, max mouse sensitivity and scrollclicking/bg targets ive never really had the need to use tab.

You can also create a macro that works like a mouseover and without (on the current target) using the script "exists" /cast [@mouseover, exists] hammer of justice; hammer of justice. This will cast hoj on your mouseover if your hovering over someone, if not, it will use hoj on the current target.
