Dueling 90's

  • Back in Cataclysm to postpone the misery of those five levels, I camped out at 80 till about halfway through s10.
I'm half assed enough at Rogue that I was able to maintain a respectable win ratio for several classes due to the stat stacking.. Is there any chance I could do a similar thing for MoP?

I know that stats inflate a ton again, but I'd love the opportunity to do so even if it will only last the first few weeks of the season.
Could anyone who had beta access give me some pointers on HP \ damage \ etc?

Also, I haven't played in roughly four months and the new PvP resilience system is something I'm still learning. What sort of numbers would I want to maintain before swapping out to DPS stats? With the lack of PvP power on PvE gear, will it be worth it to use MoP blues at 85?

    Thanks.

I have full Cataclysmic gear, as well as being honor + arena point capped.

Genocist @ Darkspear - Game Guide - World of Warcraft This would be the rogue I'm doing it on, since it's trollspear :3

It looks like I'm in a PvE set at the moment though .. I will update it in a few hours when I get home.

I would mainly be looking at using MoP weapons + trinkets; I just don't know if the inflated stats > PvP power \ resilience.
How about reforging? Should I drop everything into hit? Should I bother with much expertise since they're such a higher level?

Assuming I won't be able to use the MoP gems; should I swap out all of my agility gems to PvP resilience? What are inflation rates of secondary stats looking like?

Thanks for putting up with my bullshit by the way- I'm balancing my senior highschool clases with about 2/3 a cemester of college classes so I am short a lot of time to play, let alone do a load of number crunching. Which is sort of a bummer since I enjoy that sort of thing.

It's likely we'll get MoP gems, so you could probably go ahead and stack pvp resi + pvp power (assuming that still exists) in basically everything. You can do the same with enchants, as they all require ilevel 372+

As for weapons, the oranges are probably the best, just because of the gemslot (320 PvP power is quite a lot)

I'd make you a neat chardev (I'm actually doing this on my rogue too), but chardev won't let me do that with MoP gems yet.

Edit: And just a mention, it's likely your cataclysmic gear is better than most of those 378 pieces (since it has PvE stat allocation, resilience/pvp power are free)

Ooh, I wasn't even aware that the gear was only iLvl 378.

The orange weapons won't be available to me. I don't have 10k to drop into the weapons for this particular server. I'll look into dropping some money into gold, perhaps.
I'm disappointed that I didn't bother to pick up t2 gear on this server, I was assuming the MoP weapons would outweigh them.

    Damn, alright.

Is it enough that I am going to want to stack it over PvP resilience? Or am I going to want to be playing control and avoid being hit, anyway.

I've done it for both WotLK + Cata and in these patches I've simply been able to outplay people, but looking at the stats on the gear\weapons.. I feel like I'll need to be playing much more defensive then before.

You can probably get away with using Vivid Wild Jade - Item - World of Warcraft (if we can use them like we can use enchants). This will give you plenty of the stat (and will mean you want as many sockets as possible outside the 4pc PvP set), plus plenty of extra PvP power to boot. You should have high enough survival after just gemming/enchanting cataclysmic like that (even perhaps going for socket bonuses).

You are very likely to want to play defensively, because 90s will get well-designed PvP gear with bonuses for silly amounts of PvP power, which negates the resilience. However, scaling should mean you can still outplay them.

That was what I was looking at doing in a nutshell, but I had been planning on using secular gems. This would be more efficient however.

Is there a thread \ post that I can use to view this myself and save you some work? I've been googling around during this study hall (also for my 29's a little bit) but haven't had much luck aside of being really specific with wowhead.

    Thanks,
    Kohes \ Genocist

Heh, most of it is just my own knowledge, in addition to actually seeing a) what effect PvP power has, and b) what levels we can use the MoP "enhancements" at.

Feel free to take it with a pinch of salt, but since I'd like to do this myself, I'll be theorycrafterying it soon enough.
