Threat to F2P

Go Outside Fools
What is the biggest threat to the F2P world? No, it’s not rogues damage (I think its fine anyway). It is not op heals (I have faith that Bliz will fix the mana regen for sure and I hope they nerf the druid rejuv a bit too but that’s less likely). It’s not losing loot in dungeons to levelers (I was reading some of the F2P tales of woe thread and had a few chuckles). And its not any other class that you think is op right now.

The real threat to the entire F2P community is simply the P2P world. I have seen this briefly mentioned before so I’m not claiming originality on the subject but it deserves some discussion and/or raging. I know I’m not the only one to see this but 24s have been coming out in record numbers recently and it’s just no fun. It’s no fun when I go into a bg that has 4 of my teammate 24s and we destroy the other team and its no fun getting destroyed. The game loses its excitement when everything becomes so one sided because there is no more competitiveness.

Do I have a right to complain? Not really because I play this game for free and would never pay for it but I just don’t know why anyone would ever roll a 24. Its boring and there is so much more you can do on a P2P that I don’t see why anyone would waste their time and money to only play two different battle grounds.

my opnion is that 24´s are for:

Fair game(playing the weak classes)
Revenge(playing the OP classes)

if u dont like to completely dominate enemy with 24´s... join alliance.

If its a weak dps class or weak healers class(no longer exists) like some peeps ive meet at alliance its fine.
And a lvl24 dps class(except rogues) in MoP always helps killing those healers.

I dont enjoy when it is one sided like you mentioned, but i think its interesting to have one 24 per side, it keeps the game interesting trying to watch out for their most powerful player (stat wise, perhaps not skill wise). Thats my take on it... but having 3 or more 24's on a single side id say is unfair, they should be limited to 1-2 24's per side atleast.

There are just some people who take pleasure in hurting others, it's called bullying and it will never go away. If there was a bracket that had level 5's and level 30's... 30's would flock to it as long as there were still hordes of 5's to one shot. It makes them feel strong and powerful, something they probably never feel in real life.

As long as there are 20's, there will be 24's that can't compete at 85, and would rather have an unfair advantage at a lower level. Sad but true.

It takes an incredibly good person to have the ability to abuse others anonymously, and choose not to. Those types of people are few and far between on a video game.

There is no threat to F2P WoW. WoW will become more and more F2P soon[SUP]tm[/SUP]

I'm P2P and I chose to play F2P because I'm just a beast like that.

I always wondered about 24s motives, even after playing in the bracket with them for so long. Never really talked to any besides the herpa-derp in bg chat. Are they actually making twinks, or just farming achievements at an easy level to do so? Often I think the latter due to how poorly geared many of them are. Farming BoAs doesn't make any sense, an 85 doing Tol Barad make way more honor per hour.

Yeah, you have to be genuinely retarded to pay a subscription for WoW, considering what you get from GW2 after paying just once. If Blizzard don't switch to full F2P, then Blizzard will kill WoW. The only thing delaying this is the huge number of WoW players who are genuinely retarded, and think the game is worth that subscription.

Long time GW player here. The Guild Wars model is based on installments. They will release expansions every so often, much like WoW does. In Guild Wars, the original, while you were free to not upgrade your account when the expansion hit, you were soon left in the dust as everyone else had better builds due to new skills being released. So if you PvPed (it was a PvP game) you really needed to upgrade. One nice thing they did was have a PvP only package, which was really cheap, and skill unlock packs. So while it's not like you just plop down $60 and your good for 6 years, it was still way cheaper than WoW over the same period of time. All told I think I spent about $250 dollars on Guild Wars over the entire duration of the game, which is still up and running. And still fun.

Not sure if GW2 will work exactly the same way (actually I'm pretty sure it won't be exactly the same), but it should be similar.

PuGs are a threat.... but then this threat is all brackets wide. Still, they're a threat. Its like milk to a lactose intolerant person who just had a double bean and cheese burrito.

24s aren't as effective as they were pre-patch due to resilience, so I'm not really complaining anymore. Though of course SPriests seem to be the FotM right now and are dominating, but that aside, the problem is a lot better.
