You no longer need to have a pole equip, your character makes his own with a stick and string! (I assumed the only ramification is that it has +0 fishing)

Who knows, if bg's are overrun with shadow priests and warlocks you might use it to run a flag... xD
this is interesting news though. I could use the bag space. When you use this stick, does it unequip your weapons/shields?

No, it does not,
You just pull a stick out of nowhere and start fishing.
My theory is that now all the items give a bonus if you use them, but you can also Mine, Fish, et setra without them.
I haven't tested this theory yet.

If there is a tool that would bring Tauren to 125, which would enable them to pick Wild Steelbloom(115) as well as Kingsblood(125)

Ya, but you need the Goblin's Alchemy racial to use it. xD
I have gotten wild steelbloom from vendors, but it's one of the limited quantity things and it's hardly ever available.

It's already in the game, you can get it at the trade goods vendors.
Nice find there. The +10 to a gathering proffession can be bought from trade goods vendors and just need to be in your bag to give the bonus. Quite useful for leveling gathering profs.
That goes double for me.
