feral druids boa staff vs mace?

curious if any one has tested the new BOA staff and their thoughts vs the mace

lol....yeah, + fire resist...besides the obvious

mace has 46-69 dmg window with 2.90 speed

staff has 57-86......3.60 speed

surv hunters are now rare, the ones left haven't played in awhile or haven't respec''d. conlfag locks are rare, and mages aren't getting as much out of scorch as we thought they would

Well in that case the staff will probably be better when they remove resistance from the game. For now 15 fire resist would still be better imo.

Nono, you're all misinformed. Feral's attack speed is normalized. Weapon speed means nothing.

What Holylipz said is correct. Feral damage in terms of weapons is only affected by Damage Per Second. If they are both 20.0 DPS, they will do the same damage and same topend because it's 'normalized' to a certain speed (which is then altered by haste). If it's 2.90 speed or 3.60 speed, it doesn't matter for a feral.

I'm guessing monks will benefit more from slower 2H weapons because that's why they put the new BoA staff in-game so they wouldn't have to use a 2.9 speed 2H.

@Shanker: I play Conflag lock, thank you very much. :)

yeah...... didn't say no one plays them, said they are rare, warlocks were actually becoming more popular towards last part of CATA, seeing 2 to 5 at times in pugs and a guaranteed 4 on premades (counting both sides)

BGs now are fleets of druids and palas

Monks can't use 2h maces which is why they added the staff.
