Which Faction Is Better?

Hello all, I joined a few months ago and made a Tauren Priest on Aerie Peak to try out this bracket. There were just too many Hunters so I took a break lol.

Since it's been a few months, has it cleared up or is it worse?

Which faction is better considering queue times, win/lose ratio, and activity?

Thinking of rolling Aerie Peak again with a new class since I don't have anyone to help me out.

Also, is AP still the best server for F2P? I hear a lot about Vashj these days.

We were talking about this in chat earlier. To put it simply, horde has far shorter queue times for PvP, and this is pretty much the main reason to roll a horde toon. In pretty much all other aspects, alliance is better, it's easier to gear, has a slightly higher win ratio (alliance wins maybe 70% of the time), and I'm convinced the dungeon queues are shorter. However, for alliance, the PvP queues are horrific, you can wait in excess of one hour for an ab pop, and 20 mins for wsg.

If you choose to roll horde, then you will want to go ap, it has by far the highest population, and premades/arenas happen most all of the time. The only possible exception is if you roll a druid, then you might want to go blackwing lair, as they are setting up full druid premades, and are giving away free cookies :p

For alliance, you have more options. It seems that moon guard and vashj are the main servers, though there are small populations on norgannon and drenden as far as I'm aware.

Hunter wise, I'm sure it's pretty similar, you get probably a few more on alliance than horde, but they're often not too good, and there are always hunters on horde as well.

So, overall, roll horde for short pvp queue times, alliance for everything else. If you roll a horde, go ap (unless its a druid)
If you roll an alliance, go moon guard or vashj.

Priest is one of the few classes that shouldn't be raging at hunters :/
Win/loss ratios are close (in wsg), 90% of the time alliance wins ab.
Horde gets instant to 4 minute queues, alliance never goes below ~8 minutes and goes up to 30.
Any other class is going to have more trouble against hunters than a priest.
AP vs Vashj is personal preference, people like different communities.

You shouldn't be discouraged from playing in this bracket because of the hunters. Majority of the huntards in this bracket are helpless idiots who couldn't figure out how to move around if it wasn't for back-peddling.

It's a sad excuse to stop playing and it makes you look terrible as a PvPer.

You give a horrible player the best gear in the game, the most overpowered class, give him all advantages possible in the game; He'll still plays like shit.

Polish a Turd and it's still a Turd.

If you plan on playing Horde, go to Aerie Peak. If you plan on going Alliance, idgaf what you do. Pray to god your team doesn't fight mine.

this pretty much hit the spot. :)

Alliance is easy to get gear but have longer queue times and about 60% wsg win rate on average. I find that horde is more fun because when you play alliance, most of the hunters just go around mid killing people and not doing the objectives. They also never respond. Overall, just play the faction you think it's fun. No point stressing yourself over a game.

Jesus... just ask your Father.. He will give you guidance... He will whisper you.... AP Horde... My son .... AP Hooooordee...

I agree with you on some level- but there is no need to tell people why they should or should not play and there is no need to tell someone they look terrible as a pvper when it does not pertain to the thread. A person asks a question. Not everyone has as much experience as you, and few can outplay a hunter from the get-go.

This post isn't meant to flame you it's meant to encourage you to be more kind to those less talented or less experienced.

I totally agree with Mrcer's comment about hunters in this bracket. Many people simply play the class because they know how easy it is to Spam one button (arcane shot). Obviously, this is a bit of an exagerration and you can DEFINATELY tell when you're facing up against a legit hunter who knows how to actually play the class instead of backpedeling and collecting kills with no skill involved. This is a slight disappointment to me because hunter is my favorite class. More power to the legit hunters, and we all have to learn to deal with the wanabes, they're not going away. As for the debate whether or not they're just learning to play hunter.... This may be the case sometimes, but I've seen hunters with heirlooms and agms who lack actual skill, and I have little faith that they actually WANT to learn how to play their class.

Again, I have a ton of respect for legit, good hunters who have actual skill. This was not to flame any comments, only to clear up the existing hunter 20-24 bracket debate and post my honest opinion. I'm sorry if this offended some people.
- As for the original debate, many people gave you honest answers, and I would definately go Aerie Peak Horde, I've seen many powerful f2ps from that server.

I just dont agree that alliance wins WSG 70% of the time. That's a pretty large disparity. My personal win ratio in WSG is like 60%.
