Since this game is getting an overhaul, you never know what item/set might become BiS when MoP is released, and it would be convenient if you already have it.
Unrequited will be the fastest offhand in MoP. They overhauled the melee weapon speed system. for example, Warglaive OH and other 1.4 weapons will become 1.8. Here is a list of the fastest physical dps one-hand / off-hand melee weapons available to 70's in MoP.
you probably need as much pvp power as possible in MoP, so anything with more sockets than normal is good.
a list of 2~3 socket 1h physical damage weapons.
a list of 2 socket belts.
a list of 2 socket boots.
a list of 3 socket 2handers.
The Twin Blades of Azzinoth, if they buff these(again) like they did with Thori'dal (see below), they will be hands down BiS for many classes. on average it takes about 30 runs to get them, so you mise well start now.
Staff of the Sorrowful Chieftain if you are a 74, it will be BiS for a 74 feral (actually it already is)
Nifflevar Bearded Axe because in MoP it is becoming extremely OP, it will hit harder than apolyn!
Eye of Magtheridon
Eye of Gruul
Dragonspine Trophy
Bladespire Warbands two sockets.
Steelgrip Gauntlets two sockets with anti-disarm.
Class specific 128 trinkets, some of these are very unique, for example, the druid one has a very unique bear form proc.
T5 sets T5 has the most interesting set bonuses, for example druid feral 2p, shaman enhance 2p. especially druid feral 2p, it enables you to pick a different second tier talent than nature's swiftness.
the priest T5 (healing) two piece bonus is also good. in MoP, the cost of greater heal will drop to 155 at 70. Which means that, if you manage to bring your target to full health, you only use 55 mana per greater heal!!! infinite mana, anyone?
Thori'dal as it will be significantly better than any other ranged weapon, well maybe not the brutal ones, but i am pretty sure that they will buff the legendary one some more, because its stats haven't changed. edit: it just got buffed on PTR:
the unyielding set, Helm of the Stalwart Defender, Gauntlets of the Iron Tower, Reaver of the Infinites, because resil might be king in MoP.
Crystal Spire of Karabor, this item has a lot of potential in PVP in MoP.
Syphon of the Nathrezim, Bulwark of Azzinoth, Shard of Azzinoth, Rod of the Sun King, they might buff the proc and/or proc rate of these, you never know.
(credit to Metamorfos) Glimmering Naaru Sliver or in general anything that gives you a set amount of mana back upon use or anything that reduces mana costs for a set amount upon use becomes more valuable as mana pools are getting reduced.
Pattern: Whitemend Hood and Pattern: Whitemend Pants because if one day you want to go for a max-spell power set, they are actually BiS. even tho the items are BoE, the patterns are BoP, so you need tailoring to collect them, you can collect them on a different char or in between re-leveling engineering.
(credit to Kahr) Steely Naaru Sliver if you are a hunter because expertise is useful for hunters too in MoP.
(credit to Metamorfos) Shard of Contempt if you are a hunter because expertise is useful for hunters too in MoP.
Collect wands, wands become one handers. This means that the two socket wands from SWP will be on par with other 154+ 1h weapons. for example, currently on PTR, the difference between Wand of the Demonsoul and Sunflare is very small.
feel free to add more input, i will update this post with your ideas!
