The Olympics is a great event that happens every 4 years.
4 years ago blizzard celebrated this global event by rewarding players with a Tabard that had Olympic 'like' rings on it (Tabard of Compatition)
and a Chinese dragon pet ( spirit of competition)
This year they haven't even bothered. Claiming that they are too bizy with there stupid Pokemon battle system, to use a mechanic that has already been used before. All they needed to do was make a new England related pet and keep the tabard the same from last time, but NOOoOo.
They are bizy??? They had 4 years to make a new pet model that would only take a tiny team a few days to dev.
Its little free patches like this that makes a player feel valued and it makes you feel like spending money on a subscription is relay worth it. But less and less of these one off events are happening. Blizzard seems to be using patches as a way of distributing content that failed to meet the expansion release date, instead of expanding gameplay.
When is the last time we had a gamechangeing patch??
I dont want to be ripped off every year buying an expansion that has been rushed
This is probably why wow is loosing subs cuz players are undervalued in present wow affairs
