For those of you who don't know, I'm currently working on decking out my new Level 1 Twink Mage. I have seen time after time people struggling and overworking themselves, yet sit clueless as to how to make a successful Twink. I am also included in this group as I have previously struggled on my old Level 1 Rogue, however this time I am back with more knowledge and willpower. With this said, there are countless guides and videos on the net on how to Twink, however its rare to have someone walk you through the entire process of becoming something from nothing.
Same with the mindstate and logic. The only time this rule doesn't apply for me is grinding Achievements during a Seasonal Event or farming an item that is about to become Grandfathered. Even then, if the proper research & knowledge of Twinking isn't there, this rule may aswell not apply. I know a lot of people who are focused on "becoming the best Twink", yet spend plenty of time sitting AFK in Stormwind / Orgrimmar. This means I won't be playing and overworking myself for as long as I used to, however when I am working, it will be alot smarter and harder.
The amount of fun and sense of achievement that can be gained whilst Twinking on a Level 1 is beyond imaginable, especially with an expansion around the corner. Even if you are a solo player without any Guild, you can achieve so much on your own and meet other Twinks / Non-Twinks by doing it. Not taking advantage of this opportunity to try something new seems foolish to me.
Realistically to be progressive you need a plan. You need a plan for a lot of things to become a decent Level 1 Twink. You need to plan out which toon is more effective for grinding pets & enchants, which toon(s) you will be farming certain items for achievements on and lastly, which toon you will be focusing making money on. Along with all of this, you need to plan your time effectively and decide what you should be farming and when.
