Forum Restructure -- Random Forum Closings

  • Hey all.

Over the next 3-4 days, there will be random forum closings as I work on a new idea for the flow of this website. It will be quite a large overhaul, so I will need everyone's help in reporting things that are not placed where they need to be.

PLEASE DO NOT REPORT ANY POSTS NOT BEING WHERE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE UNTIL I MARK THIS PROJECT AS COMPLETE!

The forum structure that will be changing is the brackets to look like this (this is just an example):

15-19 Twink Bracket (closed to posting -- top hierarchy forum)
    -- 15-19 Twink Discussion
    -- 15-19 Twink Guides
    -- 15-19 Twink Guild Recruitment
-- 15-19 Rate-A-Twink (still thinking if I want to make a subforum for each bracket for just RAT considering it is still not all that popular as of yet).

All other forums will be staying the same.

I thank you all for your anticipated cooperation.

    Alright.

The restructure is complete. The Guild Recruitment forums and Rate-A-Twink forums are closed for posting as we move all of the posts into their proper bracket categories. We will merge threads that are duplicates and what not.

Please bare with us as this is quite a process to undertake. But, in the end, this will be worth the effort!

Completely unnecessary change, in my opinion.

When viewing the site on my computer OR my phone, often times I'm just scrolling down looking at the 19s section, 29s, guild recruitment, guides, and the general twinks section for the most recent post in each section. Now that you've condensed them it makes it infinitely more difficult, especially for phone users.

Do what you please, but this change wasn't needed at all.

Are the twink guides still being moved then? The link in my sig just leads back to the main page of TI, now.

    looks nice awesome.

I think a Twink Guide subsection should be added to the General Twinks Section just because there are guides that apply to all twinks or a majority of the twink brackets (like my Rumsey Rum guide).

    1) Could globals get their own subsection rather than having to scroll through them under each heading? I understand they wouldn't technically be globals anymore, but like Important Announcements for every bracket
    2) Alternate Twinking could use some sorting love ... several of the stickies are guides

Done and done. Keeping the vent information + code of conduct as globals though. The other two were not necessary.

Thanks for the time you and the mods have spent restructuring the site. It's a lot easier to find things relevant to your bracket now.

One small suggestion which might improve the usability a little: Maybe make the actual bracket forums the discussion forums, with the sub-forums shown at the top like it does in "Site Update News", "The Auction House" and "Bugs and Issues". That way each bracket has like a "home" where they can see the general discussion, but also see if there's been any new posts in the sub-forums.

Edit: Damn that was fast, looks awesome :)

When the reformat first happened, the only guides up in the 15-19 section were Mocha's rogue guide and Mutank's warrior guide. Now, the only two up are Mocha's rogue guide and Pizza's hunter guide. We are missing a bunch that get a lot of traffic, like my warlock guide, Maelstwom's and Shiromajyo's priest guides, Curley's rogue guide and many more.

F2P Bracket can have something similar to "
    subforum_old-48.png
Guild Recruitment + LFG ". You can call it : "

    Join a community "

    1.2 How F2P Communities Work : The F2P Addon

If you want to be able to communicate with other F2P twinks on your server (and so much more), read the following post to learn about the features of the awesome F2PAddon:

Yasueh's Macros and Addons for F2P by Yasueh

    1.3 F2P Communities

It's possible for any player to join any community they like. Increased latency / lag is of course possible. Aerie Peak US has the largest F2P communities on both factions and there are players from both the US and EU. With a New York datacenter most people do not experience any connection issues.

If you want to play on servers not in your region, you have two options. You could install a separate client for the region you want to access, or change your realmlist. If you want to know more about what this means or are interested in changing your realmlist, read the following:

Daily premades, arenas almost every day during peak hours. Big alliance community, with some people having Horde alts, making for a small Horde community.

If you want me to add a community here, PM me with information about size, activites, etc. Making a recruitment thread is also helpful. :)

In all honesty, it looks like the guides have been deleted. I am trying my best to recover them, but thus far, no luck. vBulletin went crazy on me last night when I was doing some thread moves.

Anyways, still digging for them. Just bare with.

If they're gone they're gone, but that would be quite a shame. Put hours in to mine, as I'm sure everyone else did, and don't have a backup. What I find strange is that Mocha's and Mutank's guides were there at first, but then Mutank's was replaced with Pizza's.

Backups of them in case the original posts can't be recovered: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/8a2n1hjgnnqzyz8/VVuh4SlOp0

If you download the relevant page and open it in your web browser, you should be able to just copy & paste the content into a new thread. I've also got the images should they be needed, or alternatively you can use Google's cached version (which is where I got those from).

    Thanks, wasn't expecting that ;o

Gonna get to reformatting it right now.
