How do i transmog pristine lightforge to burnished? do i have to do it on my main or is their a specific way to do it?

Go to the transmog person in stormwind.

It takes a few tries, but it can happen - send it to your main (plate wearer), do the mog, wait a minute, and drag it from your character screen straight to the mailbox (do not put it in your bag!).

Then wait a few seconds, and log off. Switch to your twink, and it probably won't be xmogged - took a few tries with me, but it can be done with the mail/plate and leather/mail

Hmm does this work?

I have a helm I got from a quest that looks like the Rogue t2 helm that I tried xmogging my BoA too, however once I mailed it the transmog was lost.
