instead of doing regular 2v2, 3v3, 5v5s, why not change things up a bit?

I did this very long time ago on my server

3v3
instead of all 3 players jumping in, why not one at a time?
so each team chooses which players should go first, second and third.
so its basically chain 1v1s
the other two players cannot help and the player going after the first player should get ready
its kinda like street fighter thing but cannot switch the players out
but before they can start, each team's buffs are allowed.
like Warlock's Imp buff would be allowed during the fight or pallys aura.
so basically if the hunter is going first, he can stomp all three without the other two player's help.

wouldnt this be interesting?
 
I thought the point of 3v3 was to make up for the inherent imbalances in 1v1...
 
hats a nice idea dubs, i did something similar today with my friends on eldre thalas ;]

then after our arenas we had 2 5man groups go out to represent who we are, my group ended up meating an aerie peak premade so we almost had a full out 10man AP/eldre thalas premade excpet one of our guys had to go ;[ needless to say the horde had no chance and the game ended faster than the que time took.

Intentionally imbalanced PvP is a bad idea, thus your idea is bad
why does duel exist? do based on your statement, duel should be out of the game because it is intentionally imbalanced PvP. NO game (RPG or RTS) is 100% balanced so i dont know what you are talking about
and how is it 1v1?
if someone beats a the other team's first player, their hp will be pretty low AND with dots. so 30% hp vs 100% isnt really 1v1 is it?
you seem to troll alot in every thread i see.
 
Sounds like something pretty cool/different, maybe if you can choose when each person goes out for better matchups. For example, you go with a shaman after their priest kills your mage (channeling my 4th/5th grade Pokemon Red skillz right now).

Instead of being purely balanced around 1v1, something like this could be balanced around the inherent imbalance in 1v1. You'd have an advantage with certain class matchups, but a good player could still turn it around and win any fight, especially with a lucky crit or two.
