What's your favorite healthpot macro?

  • does anyone have a one-macro solution to health pots and stone statues? I've been experimenting with healthpot macros and have yet to find anything that's ideal (for me anyway)

    right now i'm using

    #showtooltip
/castsequence reset=120 healing potion, rough stone statue

I like this because i just tap the key twice. In the middle of a fight, its not much thinking and I can stay focused on what else i'm doing. The problem is that once i run out of healing potions, i have to manually switch macros to one that says the same, but "Lesser Healing Potion". FYI: I have Rough statues due to my own play-style limitations (which translate to me just not farming the mats), but Coarse Stone Statues would definitely be better.

I tried putting the pots and statues in different macros, but found myself just not using the statues. I kind of liked these though as they let me first burn through all my higher-end consumables, and then uses the lower-end ones if i happen to run out of the good stuff. There's less thinking about what consumables i'm carrying, but one different button to click.

    #showtooltip
    /use healing potion
    /use lesser healing potion

    and

    #showtooltip
    /use rough stone statue
    /use coarse stone statue

I thought about doing this next one to get around me accidentally not noticing when i run out of healing potions, but haven't tested it yet (thinking it won't work).

    #showtooltip
/castsequence reset=120 healing potion, rough stone statue
    /use Lesser healing potion

Well if you're having trouble running out of potions, change the order of the /use /use macro to list the potion first, and that will display the count and cooldown of the potion. Or use "#showtooltip healing potion".

I would also put "/use Horde Battle Standard" in any potion macro, because why not? I have that macrod into my Thorns as well, since I only cast it on or near someone being focused. You could also stick Lifeblood in there. The heal is decent, and if you're down enough HP to need a potion, you're probably better off wasting the haste CD early to stay alive.

My first inclination with this sort of thing is a modifier macro that lets you pick what to use (though this does use up keybinds), something like:

    #showtooltip
    /use [nomod:shift] Healing Potion
    /use [nomod:ctrl] Rough Stone Statue
    /use Horde Battle Standard
    etc.

This would use both with a single press, and let you opt out of one or the other by pushing shift or ctrl. Hitting shift will also show you the count of RSS, though you can avoid that with #showtooltip healing potion.

Just another sort of macro to keep in mind.

    thanks.

i actually started with both the AGM and batlel standard in there, but now i actually have my battle standard with my AGM in a separate macro since both are pretty much a one-use per BG i don't want to just spam them the first time i pop a pot. Also, using the battle standard knocks me out of Cat Form, which is another reason why i took it out of a more spammable potion macro.

i'd love to have a macro that pops 'A' healing potion and 'A' statue, but haven't figured it out yet.

Cast sequence would work I think. And what Pino said about macroing it after RSS is a good idea.

Alright, I think I got something that's working just the way i want it. Its as close as I can get to a one-button pot/statue macro (and some mana stuff for kicks). Behold!

    #showtooltip
    /castsequence [nomod] reset=120 item:929, item:25498
    /castsequence [nomod] reset=120 item:858, item:25498
    /cast [mod:shift] item:858
    /castsequence [mod:ctrl] reset=120 item:3385, item:23386

I had to use item numbers to shrink it down:

This gets around the need to watch my consumables and hit different keybinds depending on what consumables i still have on me. It works so far and I think it's because if you DON'T have any Healing Potions (in line 2), that cast sequence can't even start so it just runs to the next line and starts the cast sequence with the Lesser Healing Potions.

The only thing this DOESN'T do is consider Rough Stone Statues vs Course Stone Statues. I never bother with the rough statues so it doesn't bother me. I can't figure out how to incorporate it...to many if-thens.

My warrior's 1 button heal macro:

    #showtooltip
    /use 14
    /target Vailent
    /cast Gift of the Naaru(Racial)
    /silly
    /targetlastenemy
    /cast Lifeblood
    /use Lesser Healing Potion

Use 14 is the AGM and the /silly is just for the lolz.. The only thing there that triggers a gcd is the pot, so alternatively you could swap it out with the statue... using both on one button would require a cast sequence though.

no, i'm pretty sure you could have them both pop at the same time. they're not on the GCD (just like your racial). keeping them separate gives more control, but i suppose if i'm going to pop a healing potion, i should probably be popping a statue as well.

hmm, going to mix it up tonight and try this one:

    /use [nomod]healing potion
    /use [nomod]lesser healing potion
    /use [nomod]coarse stone statue
    /use [nomod]rough stone statue
    /use [mod:shift]lesser healing potion
    /castsequence [mod:ctrl]reset=120 lesser mana potion,condensed mana powder
