Why is this really any more special than the Auction House, may I ask? What am I missing?
 
The Bogling Roots alone would be worth a bunch of money...would take several hours to farm just those (leveling an ally toon to 4, doing the quest, rinsing and repeating)...not difficult, just time consuming.

While the Discombobulator Ray recipe might not cost anything, the mats depending on server can get pricey.

You're correct that stuff can be gotten, but the weapons are slow farming and for the crafted material you have to get mats, find crafters, do the farming, etc....

I ALWAYS pay for convenience, and this bank is convenient.
 
^ What he said. I think you can get 3 bogling roots everytime you do the quest and check your PM box chubs.
 
You can actually get 6...but it requires you to have another toon at the other spawn place to kill them. They despawn in the time it takes a lvl4 to run there. The map of the other spawn location is on wowhead.

Just a word of advice, don't do a lvl4 hunter cause your pet will kill 2 of them before you do and you don't get to loot them :)
