Imo, wait for MoP b4 you lvl up.
You never know what might happen to locks.

their stock cant really go any further down at 80
so why not level up now to experience pre and post mop

unless its a twink you might want again later, in that case still come up just lvl a new one imo

undergeared twink, already got my other lock 85, im not leveling up to be op, i just enjoy locks and warriors :)

Quoting what I wrote in another thread:
From what I can see, these don't exist anywhere anymore (at least on 25man). There was a time when we organised cross-realm level 80 raids through this forum but those ended due to inactivity (reached 11/12 ICC25hc in Cata gear).

I'm not even sure there's any active (and healthy) level 80 guilds remaining across all the EU realms. Legacy / Phoenix disbanded a long time, followed by lnsanity / LF GF IM FULL WRATH around the time of the cross-realm raiding. There's a French guild (wotlk is nøt dead) that's currently struggling with activity issues and a German guild I never hear much about. I play horde and don't pvp much, so there might be some Alliance guilds I'm unaware of too.

So your options would be to either wait until after MoP hits or start your own guild/raids.

A little birdy told me that Aelobin was thinking about starting up raids again in the 80 bracket, unfortunately for you. He doesn't want to raid with retards.

Clearly cant read.. I had said that i was already in a guild .. and wouldnt join a guild using cata gear anyway

he clearly missread, but I know that deep inside of your hearth you would join us...

as much as i respect you juliye i will never join a guild using cata items, i play 80 as i enjoy the wrath expansion, and i dont aim to play a private server.

i have no need when i am leading a guild using wrath items downing icc each week ( not king yet D: stil lacking a bit of gear as tried with 5 alts in group)

Same as in 70ie, full 115 instead of swp<3

:D i find it fun and so do the guildies.

i had asked officers if they wanted to raid as cata gear without me , they said they would rather not play the twinks
we find it unskill-full ( note that is our personal opinion ) we can understand people using it for pvp and arena's and so on as others do but in pve where the content is rather easy in legit gear we all here at psychosis feel no reason to us it.

If any of that makes sense il be amazed as im rather sleepy

By restricting gear to only WotLK items, you're not making that much of a difference. A prime example of this would be frityr459, who raids on his 80 mage in full ICC gear yet still pulls anywhere in the range of 35k-70k dps (in ICC, depending on the fight). Cata items actually reduce the gap between the OP classes (mages / disc priests) and everyone else.

If you enjoy WotLK then it doesn't matter what gear you use, the content will be the same. But if you want to make recruitment harder for yourself by narrowing down possible raid/guild members, that's your choice. At the very least, if you're insistent on using just wrath items, the only way you can do it "legitimately" in my eyes is if you use 1 tier lower than the tier you're raiding (Naxx in Uld, Uld in ToC, ToC in ICC) to try offset the talent/stat changes.

And like Splo said, this is a twink site and twinking is about getting the best gear for your character, so don't be surprised if not many other share your view around here.

The only thing that sucks aelo is that you can't get the 4 set parts from ToGC 25 :/ so ICC will be even harder :D

One guy, Arcane Mage in my guild, pulled out 92k dps on Sindragosa 25 Heroic with Full ICC 25 HC gear, he is fire now but he can pull out the same as in Arcane.
