To resilience, or not to resilience, that is the question.

So I've been gearing my rogue, and I bought my JP Loom chest piece this morning. But i started thinking, I'll have around 38-40% damage reduction if I choose honor shoulders/weapons when the MoP resilience changes come (unless it scales differently than anticipated). So I was wondering, who all thinks resilience priority is going to be the itemization of choice when MoP hits?

I'm going resilience. It IS the PvP stat, so I'm planning on stacking the crap out of it. Also considering rolling a full stam/resilience Priest FC when MoP hits.

imho, it's really too early to be concerned with MoP changes. I understand the anticipation, but it likely won't be out for a while and it definitely won't be out so soon that you wouldn't be able to grind out remaining boas before. If you continue playing your character consistently before the xpac arrives you'll likely have every boa available to you regardless.

Just gear for what's bis now and worry about MoP when it happens.

Edit:

More on topic, I also just think it's early because we don't know what gear changes will occur. As it is, MM is best for a survival set but it's only because the stam is such a massive boost over pvp cloth shoulders, for example. If they were given more resilience they'd likely be a better choice. Again, only time will answer this question.

It won't be resilience as such, it will be PvP power and defense. If you stack defense and take a few seconds longer to kill, but hit like a wet noodle, there's not much point. That would be like stacking stam now, to the exclusion of more important stats. Also, from the limited number of PvP stat options available at 20, we don't know how they will scale. While the PvP 2H sword would be nice, it has resilience currently, because of its faster speed, it will probably still do less damage than the BaR axe.

Until final numbers are in, it's pointless to speculate. Infact, it's still going to be difficult to work out completely to begin with because it's not going to be as simple as checking the character sheet, unless they include seperate damage stats for PvP. As for resilience scaling differently, of course it will. Either way, with limited chants and limited gearing options, PvP power and defense are going to be quite difficult to come by, just like expertise, at this level.

/agree

Given the small number of items, I don't think there will too many conflicts. Either you will rock the PvP BoAs or you won't. So for most folks that is just the difference of a shoulder item, a weapon or two, Rune of Duty/Perfection, and Inherited Insignia.

I do not know, having not decided between guardian, and feral
If i MS guardian, and respec to feral when i feel like it,i willl prioritize with pvp defense<stam>agility>crit
If is ms feral, and respec guard, agility>stam>crit>pvp power
Pvp(____) may overtake priority as crit, and some agility depending on scaling
which ever i chose, i will prioritize those BoA's/stat priority.
then but the rest to go from good burst(cat), to survivability(bear)

I generally prefer the glass cannon approach, but do not like pvp(___) stats as a whole, and unless scaling is OP'd, will probally prefer 3-4AP to 4-5 AP worth of pvp power

I think pvp power is a temporary solution to a problem that shouldn't have been. Imo resilience was and still is a bad idea. I think it could be modified so it reduces the chance you are crit upon, but having a single stat that is better than spell resist and armor seems a little OP. If you try and enter at a beginner level, w/o any pvp gear (let's assume you are one of the many noobs among the approximate 10 million players). First off, you prob aren't BiS PvE if you are trying to do pvp w/o any pvp gear. You cant do ANYTHING to these resil stacking people.

2 wrongs don't make a right (ie. resil and pvp power)

So basically, it's the general consensus that PvP stats are either going to grossly overpowered, or underpowered to the point of uselessness, with no one putting money on it scaling well across all levels. lol. I blame Bobby Kotick.

...I'm still predicting a Guitar Hero mini-game w/peripheral.

I prefer stam than resilence. I HIGHLY doubt there will be a 40% damage reduction.

If the base is 30% then getting 10% more from gear could be doable. The real question is 40% of what? We don't know how gear will scale and I highly doubt Blizz will be putting in their best efforts to balance F2P. If it does balance it out a little, it will simply be an unintended consequence.

The best news for the bracket seems to be the removal of melee and ranged weapons, which will impact 24 hunters more than anything else. Currently the highest DPS out there, they at least, will be getting Nerfed, losing their BC chants to melee weapons.

15 Agility isn't a BC enchant.

Crusader and 15 agility are Vanila enchants made for level cap. I fought a 18 ret loomed pally with the Crusader Enchant in Darkmoon Island and she almost got me.
