Hunter's are awful FCs... Prot Pal/War are the only truly viable options at 29.

One of your biggest assets is that you can kill things faster then they can kill you. Herb will give you more then mining (health-wise) could and on top of that give the 90(?) haste.
Eng brings Parachute Cloak to the table. Hands down the best item in low level PvP (Esp for Hunters due to disengage)

is everyone a top tier player or something?
i'd guess for pugs that it would be perfectly viable
engineering for super seriousness cause of grenades and shit, but otherwise herbalism is a good lazy second. i've also done alch+herb and gotten a bunch of elixirs but that's not as good as mining+eng with grenades

Actually as an fc escort/fast caper its very viable, and if said hunter is good at clicking flags its nice to have a high hp toon with disengage around not to mention how great hunters are at the escort part..
Me and paunch Paunch @ Ursin - Game Guide - World of Warcraft tried it a few times it can be highly effective

Sure if the Hunter can Cheetah all the way to flag then by all means. But that's not how FCing works. Hunter's get graped with leather and no shield.

because all you can do is soak damage, you have no movement increase so your FCing path typically becomes running through the mid and hoping your team is better than the other. playing a druid/shaman/hunter is much more interesting and easier to manipulate human psychology with the movement increases that are available, and a hunter also has the capability to fend itself

And as a shaman/druid/hunter with 4+ stacks two rogues shadowstep ambush you or one ret or enhance shaman gets on you and its all over. Manipulate the spirit healer all you want.
