thats basically how pve works. you get better gear, you wear it to preform at the highest level you can. anything less is just gimping yourself
now mind you, you dont NEED to wear it, but you'll be preforming at a sub-par level for no apparent reason

and i still pwn 95 % of the dpsers in ICC 25 HC with 85 pugs in my ICC gear.

we talk about doing icc 10 hc or 25 hc with only 80s in only 80 gear enchants pots flasks food buff and gems etc.

If this is even remotely true, which I highly doubt it is - Then the player with that gear is either a complete retard or suffering from extreme latency issues.

A simple way to debunk this is to ask for logs. Please provide them. Given that the ds heroic (even normal) players I take know their shit, which means 70k+ on short fights. You cannot match this, as the gear does not allow for it.

I guess it's just something that comes with the class, a bubble surrounding your personal space that makes you believe you're the best mage that ever lived, which may be true - Within that small bubble. Unfortunately, no permanent cure has been found - Only a temporary one, which requires a warrior to smash the mage's bubble and global him.

And I believe Snow's (frit) over exaggerating a bit, he certainly is one of the highest fire mage dps'ers I've seen, we usually duke it out between us when we're in 85 runs of ICCHC. The spec is VERY RNG, one fight I can get 80k dps (short fight), the next doing exactly the same thing, I can get barely 30k. Same length or approximately so.
As for 397/410 getting beat by us, only certain classes. Straight up comparison to mages, a 397/410 geared fire mage would roflstomp on us all day long as long as the fight lasted any longer than a minute. We have incredible burst when everything goes right.

Yes true about the 30k vs 80k thing it is just tottly RNG based.

+ me and zmirnoff have tested mastery vs crit / haste = haste /crit wins mostly
