Item restoration for F2P

  • I just tested and the automated item restoration is working for F2P!

Log in at this URL and you will be automaticlly redirected: https://us.battle.net/support/en/restoration/select-character

You can restore any number of items (on a single character), but can only do this action once every 30 days per account (if you have multiple accounts on your battle.net you may do this once for each account).

Select character and then choose the items you wish to restore. Log in game and check your mail. The mail is sent from Customer Support (like GM mail) and can be opened. Vendored items are COD'd, so you have to buy them back, and deleted items are restored at no cost.

I was only able to restore green items that were vendored/destroyed recently. Although epics I had vendored from months ago were available for restoration.

This can also be used as temporary storage since the restored items have 90 days before they expire in your mailbox. The idea is to delete/vendor a bunch of items you've been saving, go and restore it right away, and let it sit in your mailbox until you have room to pick it up again. Of course use this at your own risk, some types of items cannot be restored through the automated system. It seems consumables cannot be restored, from my limited testing.

sweet....here's to hoping they expand the feature to include old quest rewards.

that Argas ring keeps me up at night.

Protectors Band is a great substitute :) just go get ring of precision lolwhat.

I've used this restoration once already. Will be using it again as soon as I'm off CD.

    This does not work:

"You are not eligible for this service.
You do not have any World of Warcraft accounts."
Dunno what to tell you, I've tested it with a few accounts and it works fine. I just tested with an account that has no linked P2Ps and it also worked.

If the link isn't working you can try navigating there: Support -> Knowledge Center -> Item Restoration

You probably just haven't filled in the additional information yet needed to fully activate a battlenet account.

    EDIT: Works perfectly:

Haha I just used this the other day, I didnt know it was anything new for the f2p community, was it not working for us before? I love how easy it is to use.

Go figure though, my first time EVER having to use the service and I screw up twice in one week. Now Im screwed for 30 days. :p

Everyone, including F2P, have always had access to item restoration, via a ticket. Of course GMs only had access to the same system we do now, which is why if your item was deleted a long time ago, they couldn't restore it for you. GMs can see which quests you have completed, but they stopped restoring and swapping quest rewards some time ago, the exception being when the ticket was opened immediately after the mistake was made. In times past, they were much more willing to restore things. You only pay for the item if you vendored it. If you destroy it, you get it back without cost.

You used to be able to restore items with random stats, but Blizz have since fixed this, and you now get your exact item back.

The automation and immediacy of this is great, as is the ability to look through all the crap you vendored and deleted. If you deleted a quest reward, you can try to open a ticket to get it back, but as I said, they are far less willing to do this anymore.
