Question regarding BS and Engineering

I have long been a 70 twink mainly because I only had the Burning Crusade expansion... Although I was a little ticked off with the advantage others had with synapse, tazik, jewelcrafting......I felt they had the right since they had bought WOLK and CATA expansions...

I am planning to make the move into WOLK for now(possibly CATA later)....and I had a few questions before.

1. If I only get WOLK, I can still learn the +34 gems with JC and extra slots with Blacksmith right???

2. IF I drop Blacksmith after getting the extra slots, can I still keep the extra slots?

3. Would it be possible to learn engineering tinkers for my 70s during the CATACLYSM trial???

2. no, they require atleast 400 (or a bit lower, but they need the skill) to be active
3. you SHOULD be able to learn them if you are able to skill until 450, regardless if wrath or cata (3 as gnome, 1 as non-gnome) - but iam not sure

they arent active, calculate his resilience.
18 neck 20 bracer 40 gembracer (+2 socket bonus) 30 gem gloves 22 ring 20 trinket
= 152
he has 112 in character stats, both bs gems are shown, but arent calculated into his stats, so they arent of use at all

Regarding nr 3

I believe that you can get the discovery tinkers during the Cata trial indeed, problem is that after Cata trial has ended it will obviously make all the stuff you've crafted, can use etc over 375 inactive until you upgrade to Cata for real.
