new to 10's, few questions reguarding hunters

Åaahh

Legend
Hey, recently decided to make a 10 hunter:
Åaahh @ Alterac Mountains - Game Guide - World of Warcraft

I did my best to find guides for BiS gear/talent/chants, but the most I could come up with were armories and about 382 guides for a rogue..

I'm still grinding JP for the crit boa chest/shoulder, and plan on getting atleast one AGM, after a guildie gets his.

Here's what I'd like opinions on:
1. How much hit do I need for 10-14s, I can easy achieve either 2 or 6 rating w/ or w/o the staff of jordan. I assume I'd want 3, but don't know what has 1 hit.

2. 10 haste or 15 agility to gloves, currently I have each one on two different gloves(same stats) and cant figure out whats better the majority of situations (would be easy if one could swap armor in combat).

3. I chose to go survival because I find that my pet gets one shotted to often, or just can die too fast in general to go BM. While I understand how good the stun is, I just dont like the idea of being gimped so easily. I'd like to hear opinions on the different specs and where to place the talent point, I used it for 1% haste because it seems better than 5% stam (could be different w/ 2 AGMs).

4. Serpent Sting - is it useful at all? I assume its not used in pvp at this level, but I could be wrong. Is it useful to keep people in combat? Is it useful for another reason? Is it a waste of focus?

5. How is my gear? Are there better options available to me w/o faction changing? As I've said, I plan on getting the mail boa chest/shoulder for the crit, should I stay at 2 hit and get BAR to use over SoJ?

Thats all the questions I have at the moment, and any help is greatly appreciated. Back to grinding out herbalism in feralas, one corpse run at a time lol.

I'd say get Counterveight (20 haste) for wep (BaR) and 15 agi gloves. Haste is awesome for both burst and focus regen (You wont have to worry about focus).

I forgot to add that I have the counterweight on the BoA sword(all I have atm) that I swap in w/ a macro when out of focus. But I figure it only increases my dps, and the 25 agil is better burst. While I wont be one of those guy's that asks for advice then won't take it, but are you sure 20 haste/15 agi is better burst than 10 haste/25agi or 40 agi? It just seems odd to me, granted I have not much knowledge how the combined increase to regen + attack speed compares to the increase of AP + crit agi gives, also, as survival, the 10% increase to agility needs to be taken into consideration while weighing stats.

And thank you for the quick reply!

Well. I used to have a 10 hunter and my impression was that haste (or hybrid) set was better, than agi set. But I didn't take calculations on it.

If you want to take my advise in consideration then here it comes:

I always choose agility on a 2hander for burst, also 15 agility on gloves for the same reason in pvp. Since kiting is an essential part and not just standing around and get teared apart I also suggest BM specc, all the way for an extra stun, then you dont have to worry about getting gimped.
The extra stun is crucial to get out of mele if that will happen and also for CC and stun healers or nasty rogues that shows up.

BUT, I got the grandfathered 1.90 bow in speed and if I have the bow your using I just dont get down to that right amount of speed I want in a general term of speed. So a setup with both haste and 25 agi on 2hander would I consider.

I`ve done some tests with both haste (lower dmg but more shots) and all agility (burst, but slower shots) and I always come back to the agility build.

To your questions it just to test your way to find your way of style when it comes to gearsetups and enchants. But I would go BM and Agi.

1: Hitrating isnt a problem that have occured so much for me, but for sure, you dont wanna miss that concussive shot etc.. theres the BOA staff with hit, also consider 5 hit on boots if thats the case.

2: I would go for 15 agility since the dmg/crit done will do more then 10 haste in my opinion.

3: Low Hp is equal to 1-2 shotted scenarios. If you get (can be hard on some servers, try diffrent odd times such as 03:00 and 06:00) AGM that will help alot not to mention the 1k dmgabsorbing buff when used. Bm is more effective then Surv because of the stun. BM also yields 25% more AP instead of 10% more agility bonus in Surv specc. The stun from BM is a great way to get out of hard situations and CC it`s also more effective then 5% HP/10% agi I think.
CC is more powerful then some HP imo. And as a hunter you should be far away from your opponents if you dont like to commit suicide like a do sometimes (quite often) on my F2P 20 huntard and disengage right in the middle of the action for fun :)

4: As you mentioned, I use Serpent Sting just to keep enemies in combat so they wont bandadge them selfs etc when they trying to get LOS. Never really use it besides that. 25 focus is too much to waste in a burstevent to get that player down.

5: I`m using the resilience BOA shoulders and staff to try to get as much dmgreduction as possible. If you going crit, try get the other BOA mail shoulders. I like the resilience gear best. I got 25% when in full pvp/agi gear and thats pretty good I reckon.

6: Have fun and test you way to your way of style :)

Edit: spelling

The more sets you have = more options in play style and certain situations. Test all your gear in WSG/Arenas - "Twink it" (tweak) a bit more to your needs.

Then try PVE and you'll get a whole new perspective . . .
