I just love Blizzard.

MetalIllness

Criminally Insane
I have received a perma-ban. When I looked up the details, they gave some vague description of me selling in-game gold and/or items for real life currencies.
Now I would never do anything like that, I called Blizzard customer support and I eventually found out that, no, I haven't been hacked. I got this ban for no reason.
Now I checked around, guildforums, facebook... 3 people I know are banned. For a reason Blizzard can't really make clear to them either. Perma-banned.
These people have, like I am doing right now, gone through a time consuming procedure to retrieve their unrightfully banned account, and to get answers as to why they were banned.
Once they got through that procedure, there was nothing. No messages from Blizzard, upon sending another ticket, they either got some copypasta crap that had nothing to do with the ticket,
or nothing at all. I assume more people are currently facing a similar ban.

Personally, I am pretty upset, I don't know why this is happening, I doubt Blizzard wants to lose loyal customers so badly, just wanted to let as many people as possible know how Blizzard is behaving currently, for an unknown reason.

Are you quitting wow? :)

Have you been giving out gold for free? To friends?
Cause i think, Walkdisney a lock from 19 bracket, got permbanned cause of that.

I've exploited Blizzard payment system, they called me, blamed me but they didn't ban me, not even 3 hours ^____^"

You've to be offensive at phone :)

Not sure why smiling...
on a totally unrelated note... yeah blizzard sucks hard reason why I quit wow. They're terrible
I've actually had a ticket open for 4 days now, I don't think it will still get answered.
I have to do this the hard way, call every day and give them the same story every day.
They'll eventually want this to be finished as much as I do right now.

while you're around metal...mind putting me to the top of the cheeve HoF list? :)

as for blizz sucking ... yes, and there's nothing we can do about it...which makes it suck more...i hate how they run. I've had a total of 4 wow accounts, 2 being banned for reasons unknown to me. that's probably the only thing other mmo's have over blizz. Most of the ones (cept bioware...what a let down swtor is) have great customer / forum support

This happened to me about a month or so ago. Basically you DID do something that was against the ToS and they found out about it through an investigation - that's why you were banned. If you're convinced that you didn't do anything, and they have the heart to listen to your reasoning, they might end up unbanning you. It all depends on the severity of what happened and any other things they've taken action for on your account.

I'm sure the age of your account and the amount of stuff you've purchased on the account will make a difference too. They don't want to lose vested customers.

I'll tell you right now that when it happened to me, I was guilty of buying game time from some shmuck in trade channel for gold. It turns out the guy was buying game time with a stolen credit card and spamming trade trying to offload it all. I just happened to be the dumbass who fell for it.

Less than 6 hours later my account was permanently closed for having taken part in activity which exploits the Wow economy. What I learned after contacting Blizzard GM and having them unban my account (even though I was caught red handed and admitted to it) is that they aren't against the activity of buying/selling in game items/gold. They don't care if you buy or sell gold to other people.

What they do care about is the activitiy that end up compromising an account. They have elements of systems in the game that detect things that seem excessive such as giving someone a lot of gold or moving a lot of gold across the AH as well as systems that prevent excessive amounts of gold from moving across servers and factions. What they take action against, is when a gold seller steals someone's credit card and uses it to buy in game items or game time. What they take action against, are the players who end up trading their gold for those items. What they take action against is when a gold seller bots a stolen account to either steal all it's gold or build up gold.

Anyway, good luck on getting your account back, maybe stop doing whatever you did to get banned.
