Guild Wars 2 Non-NDA weekend!

Deadvulcano

Legend
First public Guild Wars Beta weekend begins:
Friday, April 27th at 1200 PDT (GMT-7) until Sunday, April 29 2359 PDT (GMT-7).

NO subscription fees - Balanced PvP system*

I will be recording as much pvp as I possibly can, but I need some help. I don't have a good idea of what I'm going up against. From what I know so far both thieves and mesmers are incredibly popular right now (because they are perceived as op atm.) What do people want to see or know about gw2?

What profession's and weapon combos are you most interested in?

Any hints on how to not get elementalist nerfed?

Anyways, I'd like to have a list of items people are interested in so that I can focus some of my gametime.

I'm also working on a brief Tera review from this last beta weekend. And I'll be updating my blog thread with any news related to my other projects (guides/videos.)

Something tells me that the only thing most people are going to be beta testing, will be the server log-in queue.

I think I might start with the commando.

Ranger is the only profession I'm not really interested in playing.

I never really had any interest in GW2 until I just looked through the profession pages. Holy hell do the graphics look awesome! And the professions sound genuinely exciting. I may have honestly just been sold at first glance; don't know why I never considered trying this game out.

I really can't get over these graphics.

I'm mostly interested in seeing the PvP mechanics at work on multiple classes. Sounds like that's what you'll be focusing on... I can't wait.

you need to pre-purchased the game.

There are a couple important things you need to know about this Beta Weekend Event:

The only way to absolutely guarantee your access to this or any future Beta Weekend Events is to pre-purchase any edition of Guild Wars 2.
Customers who have pre-purchased the game will receive an e-mail next week with instructions on how to download the client and participate in the Beta.
This is a public event, which means that you’re not bound by a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). So go ahead, feel free to take screenshots, shoot video, blog, tweet, write, or compose a rock opera to share your Guild Wars 2 experience with the world.

Also going to play and fraps the majority of my PVP.

I'm planning to go the Human race, seems so original but yet so cool =)

Server/world:

EU Far Shiverpeaks - (Dutch Guilds x1) (Nordic Guilds x6) GW2nl.nl, guildwars2.no, gw2sverige.se, Guildwars2.dk

I'm curious where you guys are going to, not final with my choices though :p

Everyone plays at the same level in Guild Wars 2 PvP, where skill and strategy provide players with the winning edge. All players are set to max level and given all the skills and gear they need to meet their opponents on even terms.

Downed mode works a bit differently in PvP—or rather, interacting with a downed player is different in PvP. While you can still kill a downed player just by attacking them, when you are near a downed enemy, you will also see a prompt: "F - Finish Them!" Hitting F at this point starts the animation for a finishing move that sends your opponent straight to their defeated state.

Okay, I'm sold.

There won't be a subscription fee, but if it's anything like the original Guild Wars, they will release periodic updates which you will need to buy in order to unlock the skills needed to be competitive in PvP. I'm guessing these updates will be fairly regular -- averaging out to ~ $10-15 a month -- to pay for the servers and whatnot.

Still better than the WoW model, where you buy the expansion AND pay a subscription fee.

Updated OP for server list.

Are we trying to get people to join on specific servers? Might be a good idea to pick the worst name to reduce possible queue times.
