EU community

  • So i recently started f2p twinking.. And i ofc went to AP US, like most other new f2p twinks would do..
Now the problem is: I'm living in EU.
While i dont have any problems with US players, i do have a problem with permanent latency issues! :(

So i lurked around these forums a bit, and found that a few people are already trying to establish EU communities.. It has not gone too well so far though. As far as i know, the majorty of EU players are currently at Aggramar(Horde) and Twisting Nether(Alliance), and more people spread out on different servers. And of course, there are all the EU players eduring the terrible latency of US servers :O

Now heres what would totally rock: :D
I want ALL EU f2p players to unite on ONE server! So we can benefit the most from the wonderful f2p addon! ;)
Now.. It would have to be a normal server, since sexually frustrated/jealous kids would most likely ruin our day, if we roll on a PvP server (which is very unfortunate)

Now, i think that since Aggramar is a normal server, and already holds alot of hordes, that this should be our designated F2P EU realm!

Please post your thoughts below. And correct me if i am mistaken anywhere? ;)

Your best bet is probaly twisting nether regardless of faction. your not going to get all f2ps on one server but word on the street is that twisting nether uses the chat addon and im pretty sure if you roll there youll be pretty good to go

At the moment you'll find the largest f2p Horde community on Aggramar and Alliance community on Twisting Nether (from what I know of).

Frankly, I think it's better that we divide the 2 factions. There will be much lesser competition for AGM. Plus, we won't get into trouble with "sharing" Halaani Whiskey. The only advantage we get from putting both factions on the same server is that we can play a few arenas against each other. There isn't really much point in that because a lot of people, with good reason, will complain about the difference in gear (eyepatch being the biggest problem).

You seem to mainly want to benefit from the f2p addon, but I don't think it allows opposite factions to communicate with each other. So try making a horde character on Aggramar (i think you got the name mixed up with "Aggamagan") and alliance character on Twisting Nether. It'll still be enjoyable. Me and aty + others are EU players on US Aerie Peak, I have 130 ms, works fine

im playing at 110 stable MS on AP, but i would still like to play on EU realm instead due to timezone diffrence.

For me latency is not such a big problem.
I'm from germany and i have 160ms on us servers and it works ok.
On EU servers i have 9ms which is sure nice.

The biggest problem with us servers is the timeshift. I usually join the game around 9 am EU time.
That means 12am local time for pacific servers.
On AP horde e.g. it's not a big deal. There are mostly 10+ online @ this time.
But i just started a toon on Vashj US and e.g. yesterday there were only 2 players with me.

So if you like some kind of community as an EU player on a US server you should join a large community
like AP horde because a lot EU players are already there.

Another thing is fishing the STV tournament for LFH. For EU players on pacific servers its 11pm - 01am
EU time sunday evening. If you have to get up early monday morning this doesnt match perfect.

If you want to try out EU join alliance on Twisting Nether. Nice people over there.

    Cheers

I like ur idea m8 i truly do would be nice 2 see all f2ps on EU in 1 server but...however i kinda agree with Broken since there will be alot of horde players gonna complain about the gear advantage etc.. And also about troubles with the AGM anyway i'd like 2 see all EU f2ps on 1 server so wish u best of luck m8:D Best regards Mysterios

Thanks for pointing out the Aggramar/Agamaggan typo :)

I already have a toon on twisting nether, however the server is PvP, which is going to suck long-term.. Because of previously mentioned sexually frustrated teens ;)

People seem to think that cross-faction competetion for AGM is a problem? As long as its only f2p people anyway, it only adds a fair challenge to getting it, making the feeling when you finally accomplish to get it, so much more awesome.

Regarding the latency; I "only" have 140 ms on US servers, while im sitting at around 20-30 on EU realms, while it may not sound like alot, it can actually make a HUGE difference in PvP.. Certainly enough to make a reroll to EU servers worth it. Adding to that, the timezone difference is a big letdown.

As i see it, we would be better off, uniting on one server. Arranging world PvP events would be possible, aswell as meeting and duelling, doing arenas etc. Besides, some cross-faction PvP and a little hate for opposing faction is always fun.. Its what keeps WoW PvP vivid :)

Aggramar is listed as a medium populated server. Another viable server could be Kilrogg, listed as "New Players"?.. Other than that, i dont see any low populated normal realms.. Only RPPVP.. and who wants to use thee or thou in every second sentence? ;) (no offense intended at RP'ers)
