Oldschool 39's Q/A

Evening,

Few years ago myself and a group of people used to do 39 twinking on Spinebreaker (Mullers and Packers Co.) we've all grouped up together and are keen to get back into the twinking field as the game has taken a turn for the worse for 85 Arena.

Can anyone fill me in on how the 39 bracket is these days, what server is best and what guild?

Very inactive at the moment

The bracket seems to jump start itself back to life every now and then.... but for nothing longer than 3 months.

As for servers? There are no battlegroups, so every realm plays against each other now. (No Bloodlust, no Nightfall)

No real Aus pref. servers because there's a lack of activity, but I'm an Aussie.. and I have a few fellow Aussie / NZ'ers and they're with me on the popular 39 realm of Doomhammer (Horde [Protect the Lumber])

Sadly, 39s is inactive as Smiffy said.

This is because the oldschool 39s who love and enjoyed this bracket, hate what it has become. Every attempt to bring it back results in a 6man rogue team on Alliance. This bracket used to be worth playing, but lately it's not worth it. The bracket itself is not broken, it's the people who class-stack. Horde would cry for 4-5 games, then finally win 1 game. But as soon as alliance lost 1-2 games, they stopped queing. Then games would be over. Then people go straight to forums about how crap this bracket is because of all the rogues and how everyone should just go to the 70-74 bracket or 85s etc etc.



I might work on my 39 prot warrior in the future, before MoP is released. But It's hard to want to when we don't even get games that are worth coming back to.

Smiffy - there are about 7-8 of us all starting up again, there is very limited up-to-date information on what the bracket is like these days, even for classes whether they are viable or really horrid, able to shed some light on that for me?

As for being on Doomhammer, is it active and are you guys looking for some twinks to fill the ranks?

We're all currently leveling our twinks at the moment as we've since leveled our previous twinks to 85, most of us at least.

That said, we're all a form of Cereal brand with our guild name called Got Milk?

The activity of this bracket comes and goes in tri-monthly spans it seems, and at the moment it's not active at all.

In saying that, I think because of what I wrote above no real guild is recruiting 39s at the moment.

As for classes, which being viable / non-viable.. the only real non-viable class at the moment are warlocks.. every other class seems to hold their own pretty well.

I'm glad to see there's more Aussie's though, especially 39 ones.

If you need help on gear, Zieren has gone through a lot of effort to create a 39 armory that's pinned in the 39 Forum of this site. The great thing about 39 as you may already know.. there's no cookie-cutter gear set, there's such diversity it's too hard to label one set of gear as BiS.
