I'm a bad flag carrier

Apparently according to some random rogue (among other things) I am a bad FC. Why you may ask? Because I fought with the flag. Yes I understand that generally that's a bad thing. But when I queue solo and no one is chasing down the other FC.... It's either drop the flag and let one of the other not so bright people take it and lose it or I can fight and most of the time, still manage to keep it.

Don't expect anyone to care. Yes I totally expect to get flamed. I just had to vent a little.

/end rant

Someone said something mean to me... going to the forums?

Hehe.

At times it is appropriate for the FC to go for the EFC. Did your team need to return the flag 17 times before you made it back to base because you were derping around? If not, then that's a-okay in my books. If they did... slap on yo' wrists. We don't know all the details :D

But I will commend you on being one of the few FC I've encountered or heard about (in this bracket) who believes that they can and should attack while carrying the flag. You wouldn't believe the amount of people who lose any and all abilities to attack or heal after they pick it up.

Random 1: Hey Hunter, why didn't you kill that Rogue who was riding your healer?
Former FC: I was carrying the flag noob,
Random 1: You can't attack?
Former FC: I was carrying the flag. L2P.

Were they level 20? If so make a flow chart and all answers lead to ignore list

Why yes! Yes they were. I believe I was the only 24 in there that round on our side. Horde had a couple. It was a good game really. Wasn't one sided at all. Just that one 20 being cranky.

If I feel I can dps with the flag safely, I do. In this particular instance no one was chasing the other flag carrier so I did, killed him, was still able to cap. But I am a bad flag carrier so what do I know.

I did this today. I was alone in FR with flag... EFC was strolling past middle, so I thought I'd chance it by passing the flag to some lvl 20 rogue and hunting EFC down myself... Long story short, FC died and enemy capped 2-0. Much to the disappointment of a 24 rogue who needed me to justify my actions on /bg chat.

Shit happens m8, can't be perfect all the time, eh? :p

It's over. It wasn't a big deal. I just don't understand where he was coming from is all.

I've been twinking for a little over a month now and I like carrying the flag. Unless I am in a pre-made I don't trust anyone else to get it done. I'm not perfect by any means but I know my limitations.

With the tunnel speed buff, pathfinding talent, worgen speed buff, 280% speed for a short burst. I am halfway across the field super fast. I am able to do a quick scout of the other team (see how many 24's if any) and then I make the decision if I grab the flag can I safely dps if needed. If I can, I do. If not, I do my best to hold onto it while the rest of the team does their thing.

I'm not a veteran. I am super new to this. I guess it bothered me more than it should have. I flag carry. It's what I do best I think. I've run a few pre-mades with honeybadger and his crew of real id allys. I would like to think they would vouch for me and say I do a decent job.

Just one thing to say to the rogue if he reads this. Piss off sir. :)

If you feel there are no better FCs in the team than you (in terms of class, gear and ofc skill.), then go ahead and pick the flag if you feel comfortable with it. If there's no offence and you think you could provide some, generally just find another viable FC and drop the flag to them and tell you are going after EFC.

Now this is the obvious. There are a few occasions, though, when you have to carry the flag and go after efc aswell. This is usually when you are carrying the flag through mid, and have majority of the team to support you or close to you, in which case you should just make the efc life harder by providing CC to his healers and to the FC aswell. When it looks like your team has control of the efc and opposing team, begin running to your base and hope they get efc down before he passes mid. If it doesn't work out and it seems efc is just sitting at full HP and there is no effort to bringing him down, proceed to the procedure described on the previous paragraph.

Now if you do all this and do your best to help out your team, and you know you do both defensive and offensive playing effectively & as it's supposed to be done, you have no reason to be offended by a few scrubs who get mad because they are just farming mid and still aren't winning the match. If you are playing objective-oriented, you should not be put down by anyone. Only occasion you have the right to be yelled at is if you don't play your BG objectively, or make a bad mistake. Even if you get whined at because you fucked something up, take it as constructive criticism since now you know what to do next time.

Happy twinkin!
