Not the starting gear(green), but you can transmog the ones you get from the quests (blue)

how can you transmog the blues?

1. Get the blues.
2. Go to transmog place, with the blues and your heirloom gear.
3. Equip the heirlooms, and transmog them into the blue DK gear.
4. When transmogged mail them to an alt.
5.Log the alt and take the heirlooms out of mailbox.
6. It might not have worked, then try again.. This can take infinite times to do... Just about luck.

(Correct the DK gear is plate, but when you have the heirloom on your DK(The mail/plate heirloom) The heirloom will be plate aswell, and should be open for transmog,
