Darkmoon Faire Mat Farming list

Sephirus

Legend
Hey guys and girls of Twinkinfo!

Darkmoon Faire is right around the corner now. Are you ready? Let's make sure of that with this list of mats you need to farm. First i'll be explaining the purpose of farming these mats for those of you who don't know. If you already know why and just need a list of what to farm before you drop your gathering proffesion, skip the next section.

As most of us know, there is a tactic we use to maximize our tickets earned at the faire. These tickets are used to purchase awesome prizes such as pets or mounts(including the epic looking Darkmoon Dancing Bear), but they can also be traded for heirloom gear. Extra tickets are earned from exclusive quests at the faire available to only those with the right profession at a level of at least 75. There is one quest for every primary and secondary proffesion. Completing them all would greatly increase our tickets earned in that week. Of course only two primary profesions can be held at a time, so you must drop at least one proffesion to to pick up another and complete its quest. (For example, you have 2 profs right now, alchemy and skinning. You would complete the alchemy quest and the skinning quest then unlearn both and pick up mining and blacksmithing. Level both up to at least 75, and then complete their quests and repeat until all profs have been cycled through.) Using this method(along with dailes), you should earn enough tickets to purchase at least one heirloom in the week that Darkmoon faire is around.

Now that that is out of the way, here is a list of things you need to farm to get from lvl 1-75 on every profession.
You can do this in any order you like and i'll even add some of my personal favorite farming spots for all of these mats for Ally and Horde later on.
Mining
220 copper bars
220 rough stone
60 bronze bar
(optional)
+100 copper ore to prospect into tigerseye for jewelcrafting if you don't want to wait for drops

Herbalism
60 Peacebloom
60 Silverleaf
15 Briarthorn
100combined total of Peacebloom,Silverleaf, and Earthroot (make sure to keep each set in incriments of 5(5,10,15,20,etc) as you will be milling these.

Skinning
130 Light leather
60 Ruined leather scraps

Enchanting
80 Strange Dust should be sufficient

Tailoring
120 linen Cloth

Now that you have all you mats, here's a simple way to use them to lvl each of your primary professions.

Alchemy

Create 60 Minor healing potions
Create 15 Lesser healing potions

Blacksmithing
Create 34 Rough sharpening stones
Create 43 Rough grinding stones
Create 10 copper chain belt

Engineering
Create 60 Rough Blasting Powder
Create 30 Handful of copper bolts
Create 30 Rough copper bomb

Inscription
After milling for 69 Alabaster pigment mats
Create 17 Ivory ink
Create 17 Scroll of stamina
Create 26 Moonglow ink
Create 25 Armor vellum

Jewelcrafting
Create 40 Delecate copper wire
Create 14 Braided copper ring
Create 5 Tigerseye band
Create 25 Bronze setting

Leatherworking
Create 20 light leather
Create 10 light armor kits
Create 22 handstitched leather boots
Create 5 handstictched leather belt(or up to lvl 55 skill points vary a bit here)
Create 20 embossed leather gloves

Tailoring(Ally can farm linen very easily by gnolls at sentinal hill. Very fast respawn and plenty of mobs even with competition)
Create 60 bolt of linen cloth
Create 20 heavy linen gloves
Create 10 Reinforced linen Cape

Enchanting(Path #1)
1 Runed copper rod
73 enchant bracer minor health

Enchanting(Path #2 Leveled alongside Leatherworking or Tailoring)
D/E all greens from LW or Tailoring (This should take you up to about lvl 35)
40 enchant bracer minor health (use dust from D/E)
If you find that you run out of dust and fall a few short, visit the enchanting supplies vendor in your nearest major city. They sell limited supplies of Strange Dust for around 4 silver each. Or alternatley, finish up the quest for LW or Tailoring (which ever you are leveling Enchanting with) and use the other. (ie enchanting/leatherworking is your current set up, nowswitch to enchanting/Tailoring after completing the Leatherworking quest) D/E the newly created greens and continue to lvl 75 enchanting.

amazing guide, will test it when i have time (and the mats)

it's espcially great if you have alchemy (with swiftness) and you don't want to loose it (but can change the other one)

but what if you only have 1 profession free to change and don't have so much space to keep greens,
like how much mats would you need to get 75 enchanting would be great.

Tailoring
Create 60 bolt of linen cloth
Create 15 heavy linen gloves

Create 60 bolt of linen cloth -> lvl up to 42 if i'm not wrong.

doing Create 60 bolt of linen cloth + Create 30 heavy linen gloves leveled me up to 70

doing 6 more heavy linen gloves leveled me up to 75

Thx for catching that. yeah i ment to type 25 instead of 15 and forgot to add the 5 reinforced linen Capes. It's updated now.

(Update)Enchanting
80 Strange Dust should be sufficient

if you have green to desenchant, each one will give you one enchant skill till lvl 50 (then you will need more to get one skill up).

How many copper ore will we need to turn into copper bar for engi / BS / jc?

thanks a ton ive been referring to this post a lot....

Also, if anyone is reading this and said, "I might do this on my NEXT toon after MoP comes out..." Create the Toon Now go to the fair now level 1 or whatever level you can easily get there and just pick up quests and get the fair book so when you start going through BGs at level ten you can loot bodies for artifacts or Instances at 15 and then the next DMF you'll have the stuff in your bank ready to go and could easily get your First BoA gear that week.

i think i read 220 plus 220 stone and another 60 tin I have yet to farm any tin so I have about 280 copper... might need more but I might try it. I did it last time without any tin but remembering having to go out and farm more ore

blacksmithing
10 copper chain belt > runed copper gauntlets.
same skillups (65-75) save 20 copper bars.

also id like to see what skill ups you should have when doing stuff. because not everything you make is a guaranteed skillup.
65-75 copper chain belt x10 (60 copper bars)

sticky this please tired of looking for it... i guess i could add to favs but its good enough to be stickied
It's quite good, but I'm not sure if it will get stickied, due to DMF only coming around monthly and not being as directly about twinking or twinks as the posts that are stickied right now. ^^

Just in case it doesn't get stickied, here is how you can easily find it in the future, on any computer, without having to add it to favs! :O

No need to browse through over 1 000 threads looking for the title! Just click on Search forum while you're on the main f2p-twinking forum page.

Then type what you are looking for into the box, in this case Darkmoon Faire Farming. Hit enter or click Search, and in a very short time you will have a small number of matching threads!

Once you are here you should also check out Rhaellia's awesome guide, which is at the moment in the fourth position. <3

Good luck :)

I think this thread is great. Here's some more ideas OP if you're bored:

1. Break the mat requirements down by prof in case a reader wants to exclude specific profs.
2. Include consumables and mats needed beyond the min requirements to get to 75 for consumables. If I'm powerleveling Blacksmithing, I'm definitely making two stacks of Coarse Weightstones...same goes for Enchanting and Minor Wizard Oils...Jewelcrafting and Coarse Stone Statues... Inscription and Scrolls...Alchemy and various elixirs, etc.

...just some ideas.
