I recently started a f2p hunter and was wondering how the heck am I supposed to get the 10g required to turn off my exp gain at lvl 19 so I don't hit level 20. Right now i just hit lvl 19 and i'm still under 4g. So do I just farm grey mobs till I get 10g? That would take me forever. Any tips ?
 
Once you hit lvl 20, your XP automatically turns off.

To farm gold as a DPS you should que up for dungeons while doing ur dailies inbetween ques.

IE: Fishing/Cooking/Festival Dailies.

Once you've reached your gold cap, you should be buying Eternium Thread - Item - World of Warcraft

You want as many as these as you can get, so that when we do halaa raids, you can buy as much whiskey as u want.

Level 19 has nothing on level 20. The community is larger, the pops are quicker, and the obscene enchants are not required to be viable.
 
but i will go up to the next level range of battlegrounds. 20-29 right ? I'll get destroyed. Am i missing something ? I dont do arenas.
 
Brackets are seperated from 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 20-29, etc etc.

And just about EVERYONE in our bracket is level 20, you'll see maybe 3 24s a game.
 
You would get destroyed in 15-19 bracket because everybody in there would have p2p enchants except for you.
 
My 1st f2p was a lvl 19 ne rogue who i capped at 19 to try and twink, one game and i realized i didn't belong there and other f2ps tryed that as all, blizz hotfixed this sometime ago as it was a much needed change as most 19 twinkers would agree

Lol you're dating yourself there. Bracket hasn't been 20-29 for a looooonggggg while. (Nov 2010 is a long time ago right?)

Tell you what. You should make a toon, won't take long, and give it a try before you give up on the concept. Just the fact that the bracket exists and is active shows that it's not a complete exercise in futility, and that we at least enjoy it :)
 
Being in 15-19 without enchants is miserable. And do not underestimate the difference that the lack of mounts makes: having to walk everywhere makes playing the game painful. It also completely changes the dynamics of battlegrounds--games are far slower and far more dull.

Well I was playing in the 15-19 range last week and it didn't seem too bad. Not everyone was twinked out. I hit lvl 20 and have played a couple bg's and it's pretty frustrating to get 1 shot by that pesky rogue over and over and over again. I definitely need more hp's. What item should I save for first ?


Where can I get a mount on a f2p toon ? Can I buy one with honor ?

Oooch. First: Hit up some dungeons. If you have a bud get them to run you through to get your pieces. There is a Armory sticky on this forum where you can look at other hunters. But off the top of my head places you want to go are: Wailing Caverns, Stockades, Blackfathom. Head to Northern Barrens for your Neck then Ashenvale for your ring. Some quests in Hillsbrad as well. Mounts can be purchased at level 20. For BE it is outside Silvermoon.

Thats because you were likely playing in xp-on. When you turn your xp-off you're in a different queue with the twinks.

When you hit level 20 you became xp-off because your xp is capped by the starter edition, so you joined the twink bracket. Of course you're gonna get one shot if you join twink games with that amount of hp lol. You need at least 1k to participate in 20-24 with any amount of success.

The honor mounts are for level 40 riding so you can't use them. You can buy riding and a mount with gold in the main town near your starting area or main city, so for a blood elf you'd go to just outside of silvermoon to get yours : Winaestra - NPC - World of Warcraft. Start off with the mount for your faction, then you can look into mounts for other factions, Holiday rewards, and Darkmoon faire reward mounts.
