Rolling my first PvP healing F2P twink

Greetings fellow F2Pers,

I'm considering giving the healing side of things a shot, and was wanting some opinions on class. The teamwork on the horde side of the AP server has inspired me to roll a healer of some sort. However, I'd like to avoid making a pally.

Having said that, the two classes i'm having the most trouble deciding between are priest and druid. Druids seem to have the least survivability of the healer classes, but also the most potential for performing more than one role. Shamans come in at a close third.

Any feedback will be appreciated, thanks in advance!

Well imo druids are super .... at everything but healing ... esp compared to a priest. It all depends on your play style and what you want may want to do I'm future. Horde do get some great leather caster armor, and if you don't mind the limited heals compared to the other heal classes roll druid. There are after all a lot of priests shamans and palis out there plus you can always go back to sneaking around as a ninja kitty

All healers are pretty good at this lvl but if your not going to pick a pally then i would suggest a priest or a shammy. Priests are very viable because they are a good hybrid between dps and helaing, basically, they can perform one or the other with out having to switch specs. shammys are also pretty good, earth shield is pretty good at this lvl and they have good mobility. Druids are alright but they are heavily lacking in terms of raw healing potential but they are extremely good fcs

Priests=initial burst reduction and good single target heals BUT lower survivability if targeted
Druid=heals multiple targets for small amounts, very mobile and versatile BUT not as good at single target healing as others
Paladin=OP single target heals, great survivability BUT not as good at healing multiple targets as other classes
Shaman=earth shield+fast heal/slow heal+totems. Great mana regen, on par with multi target heals, good at single target heals, but not as good as Pally/Priest (at single target)

These are just off the top of my head, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong

Priests bubble is OP. You can save anyone from the brink of death and have time to top them off. Fully geared your bubbles are over 600 HP. Spec into a short CD and you can make your team invincible.

Here's a quote from my F2P Druid Guide:

  1. Are Restoration Druids a Viable Healer in Battelgrounds?
    • Yes they are. Most people will tell you that Restoration Druids are the weakest healers in this bracket, but that is easily misleading. I would agree that our 1.5 second cast does the least healing out of all of the other 1.5 Second healing spells @lvl 20, and it's also one of the most mana eating spells too. However, if you correctly play a Restoration Druid, you can go far.
    • Restoration Druids are one of the hardest healers to kill for melee classes, due the fact we can get out of any kind of CC by Shifting forms, and we have Travel form which will greatly decrease the enemies ToT on you.
    • Not only that, but we also have thorns; which is another anti-melee class ability. Most melee classes will struggle to kill you if you play correctly using thorns; while our heals might not heal for much compared to others, we are still hard to kill.
    • Make use of your roots. Offensively, it will increase the ToT of any Melee class which will overall increase their overall damage on a target. Defensively, it will keep melee classes off of anyone who you are trying to protect. This is yet another anti-melee class ability, so use it as often as possible!
    • Run and Heal! Restoration Druids are known for Throwing HoTs everywhere, and while running around the BG. Do this as much as possible!
    • Swiftmend, for those who do not know, swiftmend is the strongest instant cast heal and most mana-effienct healing spells. If you are trying to keep your FC alive, keep this on him at all times; even when he's not being attacked. In case he ever gets ambushed by a group of rogues, you will want that instant heal asap.
    • DoT spamming, this is an effective way to proc your clearcasting while contributing damage. Clearcasting makes one of your "casting" spells cost no mana, IE: Regrowth.
    • Bear Form + HoT. In a situation where you most likely cannot get a fake cast off, it would be smart to Put a HoT on yourself while fighting in bear form against a melee class(IE: One that specifically can silence you). It's an oldschool tactic that is viable at any level.

If you like watching healthbars, like you do while playing a pally roll a shaman.
If you like FCing roll a resto druid.
If you are the kind of person that likes organisation roll a priest and keep people shielded and sometimes top somebody.
Just the way i look at it. Whatever class you pick you will still be a great help in bgs since (i think) that there are still to few healers.

as druid you can play balance and assist a lot on heals + burst when needed (or just bursting depending on the situation)

this is what i do with my ret paladin too, they have tons of mana they don't use, and the flash heal crit a 700 so it would be a waste not to use it

This about sums it up.
