Shaman or drood FC?

  • Hi guys, I've been thinking about getting back in to twinking. Its been quite some time. I used to have a 19 hunter(surprising, i kno...) and 3 29s way back in he good ol' BC days. I would make a 29 since i enjoyed that bracket more so than 19, but it seems pretty dead in that bracket. So 19's it is. This time around id like to make a FC class with mobility which is why I'm torn between a resto shaman or drood. My main is a resto shaman so i already have a good understanding on how to play him. But I've never even made a druid. Which has better heals? which has better movement on the field? and Which would you prefer to be carrying the flag on your team?? Also, can you still get furlborg medicine pouch?

    Thanks in advance

I'd go resto druid. Druids have bear form, instant cheetah, and hots while shamans have shitty heals and earth shield isnt too good. Shamans are better left as support or even dps.

Druid is ahead of Shamens for nearly everything.

Instant Cast against Casting Ghost Wolf (and on that note makes getting ride of roots, etc so much easier)
Rej + swift is awesome and regrowth isn't bad. Shamen heals are ok, but rej instant cast is makes it better.
Bear form to take more damage, and cat form can be useful to get past the fights in mid when going for flag.

Hopefully MoP evens things out a little

i would say at the moment is Druid the best FC but when you see in future "like MoP" have shamans: Instant Ghoastwolf, Purge, Dispell(restro), Flashheal and a new lvl Skill like absorb totem ... now druid better but in MoP i think shaman would be in Mop better but we will see!

Thanks for the input guys, one last question, is furlborg med. Pouch still in game, and if so about how long does it take to farm it these days, I know back in the day it took about 2 days, but that was before the guild rep increase. Also, is it something I should consider with the pvp boa mace??

Nowadays it's a very quick farm, probably an hour of killing those obese furry creatures. Maybe 2h if your booster is slacking.

Yes it is still best offhand for a druid, and along with a PvP mace makes for a very good combination for FCing. Some say Grand Staff of Jordan is best in slot (more resilience + some hit), but it's all about preference. Sometime's you would rather have the staff if you're constantly DPS'd and healed for a lot, but then there's times you just wanna squeeze all possible stamina off that gear. For example if youre in D with 4+ stacks and you know opposing team has a lot of rogues and you don't wanna get bursted down in 2seconds.

Roll with whatever you're comfortable with, the stat differences between pouch + mace and GSoJ are so marginal it really doesn't matter that much which you are rolling with.

GL making your fc druid mate!

It takes around an hour to farm the pouch now. The BiS weapon for druid FCs is the BoA pvp staff though as it gives the more resilience.
