I am planning to roll a new F2P class.

but I am afraid that a 24 BiS mage or rogue or hunter can just blow me up.

what class should I roll to be able to hold my own against 24 twinks?

1, paladin for offhand shield + high armor.

2, druid for various interesting tricks up my sleeve (travel form/cat/bear/heals)

3, shaman for offhand shield + earth shield.

also, how often do queues pop for alliance F2P characters? is it as active as, say, the 70's bracket?

I would also like to mention that my style is objective play only, almost everything I do is related to the game objective!

as you can see from my other twinks' WSG stats:

1, druid has 1 cap per game.
2, rogue has 2 returns per game.

Yeah, but trust me you won't encounter many of those.

If you wanna roll a class for survivability tho paladin is probably your best bet. Honestly I'd go with whatever you play best, we all manage on our favorites just fine.

Idk how active the 70s bracket is, but on alliance you'll probably get pops every 5-15 min. Horde is 3-5 min.

not too terribly much you can do when you get a good 24's attention. you can't really "hold your own", but you can "die gracefully" or "buy time till help arrives"...

imo, right now casters are seriously gimped against 24's due to their high misses so stay away from those. personally, i'd go hunter, but expect a huge nerf come MoP

for survivability and fcing a hpal is really fun but even though druids are Underpowered they can make great fcs with their speed and shapeshifting tricks

damn, that's what i worried about most...

can you tell me just how many active 24's are out there?how many do you encounter per game on average?

this dude wins 77% of his WSG's, he also caps 1.3 flags per game.

he is clearly F2P too (not in a guild etc) so he can't really group queue with friends. does he afk out when there are good 24's on the opponents team?

my experience only===hmm, i'd say there's about as many games with no 24's as there are some WITH 24's. its usually only 1-2 24's on each side when they are present. for the most part, for me anyway, 24's aren't that much of a problem unless your strategy is directly conflicting with 24's (like you want to play O and he's playing D)

IMO %wins has almost nothing to do with a character's skill...it has more to do with what faction they're on.

thanks for your reply.

and my plan is (was) to roll a 20 FC (druid/shaman/paladin) but it looks like I will get blown up by 24 rogues/hunters.

I looked at some of the armories here...such a huge stats difference!!! i feel that it's worse than 60 vs 64. i have absolutely no idea how some F2P twinks (like that druid i linked) manage 75%+ win ratios.

A skilled 24 should beat any F2P
A bad 24 should lose to a skilled F2P

Regardless of the class.

if i am a 20 F2P druid(assuming i am good :)), just how long can i last against a good 24 rogue or a good 24 hunter?

Make a rogue, that way if you see a 24 you can avoid them.

You wont if they are good.

In any 1vs1 situation, you should never win against a good 24.

F2P vs a 24 of equal skill; the 24 will win no matter what.

you cant, i play 24s (i'm not here for flame) hunter will global you, rogue will too, my rogues rotation vs other 24s sap>ambush>vanish>shs>ambush>evis>right click flag.

as a F2P druid, you still manage 74% win ratio and 1 cap per game. i find that impressive.

do you think druid is the best class for what you do (FC and try to win every game) ?

wait a min...if you are a F2P druid...how do you manage to start a thread on the official forums?

he can be p2p and play f2p rules

i see.

i wouldn't purposely gimp myself like that but what he is doing is definitely respectable.

funny how i run into you in 39's then 70's then now F2P.

nice shield on your level 10 warrior.

20% block from 1 slot, crazy.
