I also use Carbonite but its a little buggy and I find its hard to use in WSG / AB
Carbonite : Carbonite : World of Warcraft AddOns

Question: Best Addons for WSG & AB?
Which do you guys use? Thanks

for BG's absolute MUST is BattlegroundTargets
I personally use Healers have to die in BG's as well and find it quote useful. Its much easier to go for healer when he has cross above his head :)

As for others, I use only x-perl for frames, rest of raiding/gathering addons i used when i was P2P aren't needed as F2P tbh

I use quite a lot of the addons described in Good AddOns on some characters. BattlegroundTargets, OmniCC, Icicle, Quartz, Carbonite, ...
Have a browse, see what's useful to you, and good luck! :)

If you ever plan on premading, all DPS need to download this addon:

targetAssist - Unit Frames - World of Warcraft Addons - Curse

Easy to use, it tells you who your teammates are targeting; and you can click their target's by simply clicking the name that they're targeting.
Super effective for someone who is calling out targets to kill(Who ever your Main-DPS that is calling out targets, just make sure u are always targeting his targets and ur good to go<3 )

I've been in plenty of 2.2+ RBG Teams that make this a necessary addon to have. It's super simple and easy to use. Our "call-out-target guy" would call out targets in vent, we'd target his kill target using this addon, and they'd die every time :)

Or you can get the addon, and not need to make unnecessary macros?

I dont mean to sound hostile or anything, but the addons makes everything easier. And in case you have multiple people calling out targets(or ppl assigned to take over incase the primary target-caller dies), it makes everything easier.

Or if you know your target giver ahead of time, and it will stay consistent, you can make the following macro

/target [name of person]
/assist
/attack

You can, but I would personally prefer a mouseover or simply /assist macro, instead of creating a macro restricted to one person I play with. But I agree that the AddOn easily beats any macro:

Easier and much faster!
Even useful in PUGs because you can observe who is being targeted and if your team is even focussing at all, and in some situations still come out on top in a less than stellar fight by choosing to assist with the most promising kill target.

What are you having problems with? I use it 100% for the map, disable map punk tracking (since it's wrong) and follow and you have a great map that shows all sorts of helpful stuff in your bgs.

I also consider Capping Battleground Timers to be a must have. It displays FC and EFC name/class/%hp at the top of your screen in easy to target tabs, as well as providing (*cough*shouldbebuiltin*cough*) timers for flag caps, flag respawns, and game timeouts.

I can never see the FC clearly on the minimap, sometimes the map just shrinks or disappears.
>options> Social & Punks> (what do I change?)
Please instruct me how to make Carbonite work correctly, thanks

K I don't know if you'll like this setup but I can tell you how I do it:

First up make sure they didn't merge your standard minimap into the carbonite minimap. That's in options > map minimap > first checkbox (Move minimap into carbonite map). The reasons I don't like to have them merged is that the carbonite map doesn't show class and sometimes it's handy to know who is following you, and you cannot to the best of my knowledge ping the carbonite map for fc locations and such. Then again I have a lot of room so I don't mind having 2 maps visible.

Then right click the carbonite minimap and set the fadeout transparency to 0.40, and put it in a place you're comfortable with ( I usually use a long rectangle in the bottom right corner of my screen ).

For the map options themselves right click on the carbonite map > show > (uncheck) show punks, the red dots are the location of the person who last detected a punk and it's very misleading and inaccurate. You'll also notice there is a little checkbox on the first set of options that says [Follow You]. Next time you are in a battleground wait until the battle starts and uncheck this box after you have the map positioned to be centered. If you do this the map will automatically stop following you after the start of a bg, so which is good because if you don't uncheck follow it constantly moves so that you can't see the whole map.

The map is scaleable, so you can make it any size you want, and zoomable, so that when you're looking for the efc you can literally zoom in and see that they are actually standing ON the cap point in their fr. To zoom hold your cursor over the map and scroll wheel, to move what the map is showing grab and drag.

The result on my UI looks like this :
UIcopy.png

It's not transparent right now because I'm mousing over to check someone's hp but you see how it works. I always scale it to the standard shape of a WSG map. It's very helpful tho because I can with a glance see where my teammates are and what state their hp is in, which then tells me where I should run with the flag (for ex: 2 teammates just went from full to 0 in about 2 secs = stay away!) You can also see the carbonite flag carrier tabs at the top :)

As for your map disappearing, you can make it reappear by clicking the carbonite tab on the minimap up top or by hitting your default map keybind twice (first will show fullsize map, second will reposition minimap). You could also be seeing what happens when the map doesn't zoom in on your location; since the battlegrounds and dungeons are not part of the world it can sometimes take a while for the carbonite map to place you (and it never gets it for some dungeons). If you're seeing blank make sure the follow box is checked and move around a bit, then zoom to make sure you're not on it but just zoomed out too far to see.

Hope that helps! The setup sounds complicated but I promise the result is worth it :) I feel blind when I don't have this thing.

CCreport allows you to configure your toon to announce when you've been interrupted/stunned/sapped/poly'd etc

it does need some manual config from you though since by default it announces in /bg or /p, not sure

i had to change all my strings to announce in /say

the raid/party frames already show the sapped stated, it's not really hard to check,
players out of sight are less brighter. Plus the animation is really easy to notice, that and the fact that the sapped player don't move anymore.

You're completely right that it should be quite easy to notice if someone is sapped. :)

I still feel like I have had more team support in such situations since I run the addon, which is admittedly a bit sad. I'm seeing it as two additional visual clues, one in the chat frame and one above me, and as a way to teach inexperienced players to pay attention. :)
