F2P Official Feral Druid PVP Guide

Calling something a druid guide for a questionable place to spend talent points seems somewhat presumptuous. Lecavalier is right. This thread is a joke.
every gaming guides are questionable if the game is complex enough (like wow) thanks for calling my work a joke

About combat rogues, in bg you won't see to much of those, because in wsg you're a free kill middle (hunts, yay). You loose 10% speed in stealth, don't have shadowstep.

If the combat rogue stick with a healer, that blade flurry (for a 30%loss of energy regen) is amazing. Usually subs just embush, eviscerate and run away because their damage outside of those is really bad.

did not say combat rogues are better than sub. sub is better overall for utilities and bursts but combat is better counter for ferals than sub rogues.

Hes still going on about combat rogues countering ferals I see.
it is.
you think you can beat feral as a sub? nope
you get more chance as combat

I agree with Imirak.

I can't remember too many times when i've been able to down a pally or hunter in one energy dump. Furor allows you to regen energy while still casting both HoTs and DoTs while you wait for your energy to top off again. IMO, if you know what you're doing you MUST get out of cat form as downing Pallies is all about timing and energy management. I can't agree with saying Predatory strikes has more value than Furor

But having said that...on Predatory Strikes, its not Nourish and Roots...the real benefit IMO, is Wrath...it gives you a mini closer after Ferocious Bite.

I've found 3/2 Furor/Predatory Strike to be pretty useful from a purely offensive position...but don't agree with it as a general BG build.

Also, I did read your entire post...and have to say a good argument is pretty useless without good presentation.

ok... you cant beat hunters or prot pallys as a feral. there is no doubt. rather you have furor or not you just cant beat them. well, good ones because im assuming you faced too many bad ones. furor allows you to regen energy while casting humanoid form stuff yes. you need to get out of your damn cat form to beat any kind of good players.. lol it is all about timing and energy management yes thats why i said 'as long as you dont stay out of cat form for too long, there is no energy loss' if you cant understand that, it means that after i bite with 5 pointts on the target, i will get predatory strikes buff AND my energy will be really low (about 5-10). when i get out of my cat form, and cast instant regrowth not Nourish (lol) HoT, then back to the correct form. If you do that, there will be about 5-10energy loss. not too terrible correct? did i really have to explain all that word by word for you to understand? i mean English isnt my first language so talk shit if you fucking want but i thought 'as long as you dont stay out of cat form for too long, there is no energy loss' was good enough. You must be joking if you really think wrath is more useful than Regrowth (not nourish) or roots. it gives you a mini closer after ferocious bite. yes thanks for repeating what i said 'you wont believe how many killing blows i had with instant wrath' if you read all my posts, why are you saying things like this?
thanks for your thoughts

you should add the bis items (before the boa, especially for the weapon, the rest is the same as rogue).
oh good idea! :( i will but i think i forgot lol and i chose lots of wrong quest rewards as well lol

mods, please lock this thread so it sinks to the bottom of this forum, its full of soooo much failure.

dubbs, after reading all of this and your "counter" arguments, i can easily say in confidence in the fact that;

A. you have absolutely no idea what your talking about at all,
B. you're so far from a skillcapped druid.
C. you hardly understand basic mechanics of this bracket.

If you are shifting out of form to beat good players, then you cannot wait for a finisher to shift out. You have to be able to shift out when the situation requires it. That is why you must have Furor for feral pvp. Anything else is a huge energy loss because you will frequently be shifted out of cat form for more than 5 seconds (bear form, travel form, regrowth+rejuv+thorns). Furor allows you to potentially go back to cat form with a full energy bar for a tremendous amount of burst dps (Mangle, Mangle, OOC Ferocious Bite).

If you are facing a bad player, then you don't need an instant-regrowth or instant-roots or instant-anything to win.

why dont you state why instead of talking like that
because having 3furor takes more skill? ability to spam powershift macro in cat and bear form more often and more efficiently takes much more skills indeed
i see that many people just tries to avoid something that is different from what they were thinking of the whole time.
try to think what you can do with predatory strikes and its usefulness instead of what cant you do without 3furor.

there will never be more than 30 energy loss when dealing with cat/ humanoid. i start as stealthed meaning i have 100energy and will get 2 shots atleast on them (1mangle, 1rake) which i think it costs 70energy and if i shift out, i lose nothing now ofcourse the longer i say out of the cat form, i lose more and more energy. This wont happen too much. there are two occasions (the ones that i can think of atm) when hunters disengage or your hp is low. after hitting the hunter mangle and rake, lets say hunters disengage. you have 30energy now you chase that hunter powershifting which is will only about one because most hunters in this bracket sucks and will use the s key and spam arcane shot (remember you cant beat good hunters anyways) if i powershift once, i lose only about 10-15 energy since most hunters dont know what powershifting is and will use conc shot after disengage (if they dont, they will use conc shot when im close and i wont powershift because i can catch (even with conc shot on me) a backpedaling hunter with my slow poison on since i get 35% speed bonus. now for the hp low. i use mangle and rake and this guy does too much damage on me and get down to 50% health somehow (which i dont know how but) i will still wont lose too much energy since if i cast magle, rake then i lose 70 energy already and if i cast hot and go back to cat form. i dont think i lose a ton of energy. well what if you heal? (regrowth) so after i cast hots and try to heal myself with regrowth, i will most likely be countered or just do more damage on you. and you will oom fast

im pretty damn sure i made tons of errors here correct me

just say end of discussion and finish your guide no need to keep on going with this discussion on where to invest talent points.
ask a mod to clean thread up.

edit: is this a guide or a discussion about talent points you decide on what you want Dubbs.

I'll be honest -- I don't know anything about Druids, but I can't be bothered to read any of this. If you're going to make a guide, make it comprehensive so people don't have to sift through these bricks of text.

you are right.. i will finish this guide as soon as possible
thanks :)

ok, seriously. Any guide to feral pvp that tells you to not put points in Furor is just going to mislead players.

I mean, I am open to differing opinions but Furor is practically the glue that makes a high skill cap possible for feral pvp. Without it, shifting in and out of forms for their various benefits would significantly gimp cat form.... which is the primary form for pvp.

well counter my counter argument to prove your argument. remember i never said furor is bad. i am talking about pvp in bgs. you think i never tried 3furor before? 100% that i can beat other druids with 3furor if i have 1furor and 2predatory strikes. its just more utility if you to use those instant spells rather than having guaranteed background energy recovery that can be dictated by how you play. (i think i mentioned this before)

that a good point indeed
but its still 33% with 1furor that i will get 10rage (100% with 3furor)

thanks for that basket :)

Furor gives you enough energy for an inmediate Mangle, Rake or Ferocious Bite as soon as you shift back into cat form. Without it, you have to wait.

Not only that, Furor gives you enough energy for an EXTRA Mangle or Rake after shifting back and landing that first one. Without it, you have much less burst dps.

Furor allows you to shift out of cat form at any time, depending on your immediate needs, with no penalty.

Predatory Strikes is very situational because it requires you to build up 5 combo points and land a finishing move before you can use it. Trying to stay in and get those last two combo points when you really need to be shifting out RIGHT NOW will get you killed in pvp more often than not.

Druids already have healing and dps spells that are instant-cast already without the need for a Predatory Strikes proc. This means the key qualitative differences for the PS proc would be Roots and Rebirth. Roots might be nice, but ferals already have a huge built-in mobility advantage. Where PS really shines is with Cyclone, which we do not have at level 20.

The Predatory Strikes buff can be dispelled, whereas the benefits of Furor are always available.

Don't get me wrong, Predatory Strikes is a nice talent, but not one to be taken over Furor for pvp. But that's just my opinion, admittedly, developed from my past experiences with feral pvp against all types of classes and specs (not just hunters & rogues) and often in 1v2 or even 1v3 situations. I would not presume to write an "Official" feral pvp guide, though.
