Hey Twink Info! 3’s here and I am going to explain a simple and easy to do way to make up to 400% profit in no time at all.
To start, I cannot stress this enough: Know your economy! Become comfortable with your server’s economy. Server economies can fluxuate drastically from server to server. So many times, an economy is driven by one very rich person who ups the prices of many valuable and popular mats or items. You can study the trends that they set, and can get a feel of when to undercut them, for the best profit. However this blog post is going to be about flipping stacks and stacks of Lich King gems, for 500% profit.
1. Step one is to either make a macro or type this message yourself into your chat box:
“Wtb somebody with justice points to spend!”
Now once you say this in trade chat, you will most likely get a lot of messages from various players either saying “I have 4k jp”, or “what do you need?” Now the trick of this trade is to target the “Less intelligent” players, who do not necessarily know how much these gems are worth.
2. Step two is to reply to everybody who messaged you with:
“I need as many lich king gems as you can buy, they are 200 jp each, and I am paying 20g each”.
The gems really cost 220 jp each, however when buying the gems, the person who is selling you the gems will not likely see the extra 20 justice points. You will have a lot of messages after you reply, saying “LOL I can sell chanting mats or other boe items for A LOT more than you are offering!” The biggest piece of info I cannot stress enough is, DO NOT FRET. You will get a seller of the gems quite easily. Everybody is looking to make quick gold, and selling these gems to you is very quick cash for THEM. This next part is mostly opinion, but I would say usually buy all cardinal rubies, or all Majestic Zircons. This is because, red gems are all base stats, like agility, or intellect, and blue gems are for stamina.
Even if there are not a lot of 70’s on your server, do not worry, as many 85’s need these gems to quickly level their alt, who has socketable gear, or to level jewel crafting. If the potential seller of their justice points asks for you to link the gem you need, Do not link it, as many of them will head on to the ah and search for the cardinal ruby, or majestic zircon, and see that they are listed for 150g each, obviously they will not sell to you for 20g each. I usually not waste time buying the gems from people with less than 2,000 justice points as it becomes not worth the time.
3. Step three is getting you, and your seller to dalaran.
I usually invite every level 85 mage I can find in Stormwind, or Org, who is 85. There is always one nice 85 who will accept, and port both of you to Dalaran. The name of the npc who sells the gems for justice points is Harold Winston <Jewelry Vendor>, who is in the same rooms as the jc trainer. When many 85’s click on him, they do not find the gems, as all they see is the lvl 80 gear that he sells. Tell them that the gems are on the last page. So now you are about to buy as many Cardinal Rubies, or Majestic zircons, that the person could afford via justice points. IF they have 4k, or max justice points, you will buy 18 of the gems, for 360g in total.
4. Step Four is the Repeat above step.
I usually do not attempt to sell the 18 gems, or however many gems you have, until I get at least 2-4 stacks, as many 85s will be interested in buying in bulk. So repeat all the above steps, which may look like a lot, but if done correctly, you can buy another 18 gems, in as little as 10 minutes. It is best to look for a seller of their justice points in the evening hours, as that is when the highest volume of players are logged on.
5. Step Five is the fun part, seeing all the cash flow in. Once you get a good amount of gems, it is time to cash in. In trade, put a message in saying:
“WTS Cardinal Rubies in bulk PST CHEAP”
The cheap part is sometimes a lie, but sometimes not. There is a good chance that these gems will be in the auction house for around 150g-200g. But the main reason why I say “cheap” is to grab the buyer’s attention. Now this is the part where you get creative, try to start off by selling the gems for 125g each. You do not want to start directly at 100g, as that is the goal to sell the gems for. Now when you start at 125g, you can “afford” to slowly go down in price, by intervals of 5 gold. Going down in price from 125g, to 120g, to 115g, makes the buyer most likely to buy the gems, as it makes it a lot easier for them to justify buying the gems. So buying a stack of gems for 400g, and selling them for 100g each, is 2000 gold, which ends up with 1600 gold profit, which is in fact quadrupling your investment. This is however for selling just one stack of gems, there is always a need for lich king gems, and therefore making the process a lot easier. I would not recommend putting gems in the ah, because it gives people a chance to undercut you. However the only reason I would put them in the ah for, is for around 130g each, hoping somebody would bite, and buy them all.
Whether it is a long time goal you are working towards, or just need a quick couple thousand gold, you can follow this guide. With selling, I would put it at 20 minutes max. 1,600 gold in 20 minutes is amazing, if you hate farming. If people are not biting for your prices, do not panic and sell em for a lot cheaper. There has not been one time when I could not sell these gems, for my 100 gold minimum. And always shoot for the stars. If there are many gems in the auction house for around 175-200 gold each, start your prices at around 150 gold each. You may not think the extra 50g potential profit makes a difference, but if you sell 20 cardinal rubies for 150g each, it is a 2,600 gold profit, which is 1000 extra gold.
I will end this guide by saying, do not bash this strategy until you try it. The good part about this, is it does not require a lot of gold, to invest. 400 gold is nothing nowadays, and once you sell one stack, you can up your ante, and start buying the gems in stacks of 3 to 4. One major thing to keep in mind is switch up the gems. IF you sell 4 ish stacks of cardinal rubies, do not keep buying them. Try King’s Ambers, or Majestic Zircons, as the need for cardinal rubies will go down slightly. I find that I can sell any of these three gems, for the same price of at least 100 gold. So do not worry about a loss in profit if you move from one type of gem to another. One member of TwinkInfo who has tried this method is Mcer, and he has had major profit, and even found a long term buyer, who would buy all of his gems for 150g each. There is always the chance to find somebody who will be willing to buy as many gems as you can get a hold of. I have even had “orders” for gems, by 85s who have recently purchased stacks of gems from me, which is a steady flow of income. This makes power leveling professions a lot easier, or getting the enchants for your twink, who is not on the same server as your main.
* If you have a level 70 twink, do not fall into the pressure of the auction house, and pay 100 gold or more for your lich king gems. Use this method to get as many gems as you need, and stockpile a few stacks in your bank, for only 20g each. Housing a few stacks in your bank can also be sold in an “emergency” for a quick profit!
