TI Addict Retooled -- Creation of TI Veteran Rank!

  • Hey all.

After listening to feedback on the MVP rank and the newer creation of the 'TI Addict' group, I went over some member numbers and statistics and I think that I have found an amicable solution.

There are two different possible ways to get promoted to 'TI Veteran':

    1) At least 730 days (2 years) registered on the forum and at least 1500 posts.
    2) At least 1095 days (3 years) registered on the forum and at least 750 posts.

At this present moment, there are 34 people that fit the criteria for one of these ways and I feel that is a good number given the conditions.

I know that this solution may not make some people happy, but the usergroup is meant to reward forum veterans for their dedication.

If you have any other ideas on how this usergroup may function or a question about the promotion procedure, please just leave a comment here.

    Thanks,

    Shane

This seems like a great solution. Most of the people that fall under that set up care a lot about this site (If you've stuck with a site for 3 years you are definitely invested).

On second note, I'd say it might be a better idea to put more emphasis on time. I say this because a huge % of certain brackets have an infestation of trolls who (while not having been on the forums that long) still rank up a LOT of posts, most of which are inane. I wouldn't be surprised if some of these people took to abusing said privileges.

I can understand that viewpoint and each person that gets added to that group via the automation, automatically sends me an e-mail/PM to notify me. So, I will look at their track record prior to the usergroup change being permanent. The 34 people that have the rank right now have definitely earned it.
