Level 19 Tank

Definitely agree with this. If you really want a prot warr, and also want 1v1's then go nelf, other than that it's pretty difficult for anyone to say you have a decent chance at beating some of the more OP classes.

I play both Hpala FC and Prot Warr FC (links in sig) and I'd say prot-warr is definitely more fun, however perhaps not the most useful if you dont have a healer with you on def once you have the flag.

Remember you always have the option of simply respeccing to fury if you feel like a change, but imo the other warrior specs don't live up to prot for flagging.

A note on the GF'd items, I only use 1 GF (Seal of Sylvanas) in my pug FC set(the one I have equipped atm) and I get along perfectly fine!

Thanks a lot for the response! Which ring would you recommend since one of yours is GF'd? Also, do you have trouble verse a full geared rogue and a full geared hunter? My only worry is basically getting obliterated by those 2 specs. Even if I roll fury will my damage meet up to a Rogue or Hunter twinks damage?

This bracket, or should I say this game went to **** a long time ago. Good luck, hope you have as much fun as I did here.

I'm in the process of updating my Warrior's gear... I stopped playing a few months before Cataclysm. I used to absolutely love playing him; I could wreck pretty much anyone and had great survivability in my flag carrying set. Now it's awful. I haven't tried Fury as my gear for that is even more outdated, but Protection is completely useless for basically everything except flag carrying in premades. Pretty much every class can CC the **** out of you and you won't be able to do anything about it. Good luck but keep that in mind.

You are very welcome!

Prot warriors have very little difficulty 1v1ing rogues. Infact depending on your luck and the enemy rogues' skill, I'd say you could just about solo two without even popping agm. (LB & Healing Pot may be required though.)

Combat rouges are the most difficult rogue spec for prots to beat. Idk about US, but here in EU we only have one prolific combat rogue and he is on my faction, so no worries for moi xD

As for hunters you really need to use everything at your disposal to beat them. I.e Keeshans Bandana (+18 fire resist) & Firebane Cloak (+5 fire resist) enchanted /w +15 fire resist. For duels, begin in defensive stance, hugging the hunter. As soon as it starts youll want to get a rend in, then thunderclap so it spreads to either the hunter or the pet. After this, los the hunter while continually dpsing the pet. Once the pet has died (depending on race) you will either have to shadowmeld charge, spamming victory rush all through the charge, or keep out of los for a few more secs to get out of combat then charge. After that its pretty much luck. Theres no specefic way of beating hunters, byt that works for me 65% of the time. As by the time of the charge you have built up enough vengance for a meaty 500ish shield slam crit.

As fury, you have one of the most insane burst in the bracket. However, unless you are willing to sacrifice some of that immense dmg for some stam, then you are a bit of a glass cannon with mediocre-low solo survivability. To answer your question though, given the same time on target as a rogue or hunter, fury warr would do a whole lot more damage

I've definitely 2v1 and 3v1 undergeared rogues in pugs while FCing before, however I would say that US has a fair portion of rogues who can 1v1 protwar consistently. Defensive support is a must for successful protwar FCing in a competetive environment.

So are feral tanks out of the picture/not an option?

Feral tanks only have about 40% dmg reduction from armor, can only acquire dodge which I think is about 25-30% wish bis gear. Don't know how much damage one can make compared to a warrior/pally but dmg seems fine too. But if you're interested in druid fcing, I'd say go resto for good self healing and mobility and fun to play in pugs. Some say not viable for premades but I really don't know about that. Anyways a warrior or a paladin are better fc's compared to a druid just because they have more damage reduction and pallys also have better heals. They lack the mobility that druids have though, so that's why I'd roll a druid fc if you wanna have some fun in pugs! Also druids survive better solo than a warrior but depending on the matchup, maybe a bit worse than paladin. It really all depends on how your team is and how the opposing team is... As always.

Hope this was of any help to you. Probably not though since it's just a wall of text with no message xD

With the Prot vs. Holy for Paladin FCs, one option of used in the past is to Zone into the BG with a clean slate of talents, no spec. Then have a look at your team and decide what tree to use for that game.

Yeah I often do this as warrior for pugging. If I join a game with 2 good paladin FC's I don't want to become a 3rd flag carrier, so I'll spec into fury to CC on def, and help with nuking efc.

Just realised I hadn't answered this! I'd use Band of Argas mate, high str and stam helping with you're parry, AP (from str & vengance) and health pool.

i know that I'm new to this site and it's probably not my place lol but i have a holy pally and no single person can kill me in a bg

'ey man, welcome <3

i must say, i really love Pugging on my prot warr, and i'm terrible at it. you should defo. take Baldis' advice, kids got some sick moves <3

u mean band of argas rite

Yeah
<
funny story, I actually selected the Seal of Argas when I factioned my warrior and I had to make a ticket straight away asking a GM to change it. Luckily enough the first one I got did it for me

For a Premade BG are Prot Pallies decent FC's or do guilds prefer a Prot War over a Prot Pala?

Ah I see. It seems like people only want holy pallies for their guilds when I'm more of a ret/prot pally
<
sucks guess I may as well reroll.

this is the wrong attitude, you're going about it all wrong!

you should play whatever class you prefer, not what others want you to. prot & ret are amazing and funny classes, i say stick it out, and maybe one day you'll think "hmm.. holy sounds really fun!"
