Level 19 Tank

  • Hey guys. I'm looking to create a level 19 twink and already have a hunter and rogue. I'm not big on healing but I want to try something different so I'm going to give a Tank a shot. I'm looking for something similar to a blood DK that can tank but at the same time do decent on the damage scale. In your opinion which makes the best flag carrier in the 19 bracket? Prot Paladin, Prot Warrior or Bear Tank feral druid? All your help is appreciated. Also if you guys know any good guides that can correspond to the specific class please link it here! Much appreciated.

Alright I'm thinking about rolling Prot Warrior and getting my hands into a good twink guild. Here comes the next set of questions to anyone who's willing to help:

    1. Is Bleeding Hollow considered the best level 19 twink server, or are there any other ones that would be considered better?

    and

    2. For prot I'm trying to find a good armory of a level 19 twink prot warrior. Do you guys have any friends or know any guides that can help me out with that? I've been searching forums for some but have no luck.

    1. It is, but most people who go there end up being guildless or going into a non-twink guild. My advice is to find a nice twink guild after you've played for some time and transfer to them.

    2. There's an list of twinks' armories in a thread that is pinned to the 15-19 forum. Check it out...it will definitely have a prot warrior armory.

Thanks a lot, I'll check it out.

    Thats my warrior

That set is used with hit potions to reach hit cap

Hopefully somebody else can share their armory with you as well.

I am by no means a warrior expert, but hopefully this helps.

Thanks for the link. I just got done reading one warrior guide on the forums and the guide writer wrote that unless you have Grandfathered items it's not even worth rolling protection. How do you feel about how prot stands at the moment, and would you feel fury/arms has more to offer in the 19 bracket? My biggest issue right now is finding something right for me. I have both a 19 BiS hunter + rogue but the BG's are loaded with them. I want something really unique but at the same time viable and can hold it's own in BG's but at the same time I want something that can hold it's own in a 1v1 verse a hunter or a rogue.

I would suggest a holy paladin then (if you're alliance, mainly - since we're lacking holy pallies). Holy pallies are really good at 1v1, they can/should FC when needed (or tank, w/e you wanna call it) and you contribute greatly to helping your team by healing.

Thanks for the response. I had no idea Holy Pallies would be any good at damage being that there a healing spec. I'll look into some guides but in the meantime more suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Exorcism spam + Judgement + Crusader Strike + Holy Shock (though you may be using that for healing) = a decent amount of damage for 1v1's.

Prot is just fine without GF gear

Protwar definitely has it's ups and downs and can lead to headaches against certain classes and situations. Protwar is more reliant on support to be a good FC than the other classes, so if you're looking to be able to 1v1 I would not recommend this as your choice.

Definitely agree with this. If you really want a prot warr, and also want 1v1's then go nelf, other than that it's pretty difficult for anyone to say you have a decent chance at beating some of the more OP classes.

I play both Hpala FC and Prot Warr FC (links in sig) and I'd say prot-warr is definitely more fun, however perhaps not the most useful if you dont have a healer with you on def once you have the flag.

Remember you always have the option of simply respeccing to fury if you feel like a change, but imo the other warrior specs don't live up to prot for flagging.

A note on the GF'd items, I only use 1 GF (Seal of Sylvanas) in my pug FC set(the one I have equipped atm) and I get along perfectly fine!
