Bloodsail isn't the problem. The issues is that getting Ravenholdt rep to exalted requires: http://www.wowhead.com/quest=8249 and level 50. So is not possible below 50.

you cant do the quest to turn in the lockboxes, as it requires lvl 55 or somehting

As far as why you might want DMF rep, it makes buying things cheaper, not things that require tickets though, and it counts towards your number of exalted reps achievements. It's not clear whether things being added later will require rep or not, or even if they will be added later.
