JC VS ENCHANT ROGUE

Legend
alright i know what your going to say, JC, but hear me out and then pick.

Alright so Jc gives the potential for 42 more agility (84 ap and some crit) and enchanting gives 80 AP. JC is pain to level up, enchanting is much easier. It is also much easier to make gold with enchanting (see the gold thread 3rd page i think). my question is, if i HATE JC and i want Enchanting, is the 4 ap and crit worth losing, and if there is another side to JC that im missing, I just want reasons that I shouldn't go enchanting.

thanks in advance,

42 agility x2 = 84 attack power

added with subtlety spec - (30% increased agility)

so that by itself as sub spec would be 96.6 attack power overall with just the attack power from the gems

so yes, JC.

if maximizing your DPS is a key factor to your playstyle, obviously JC is the way to go.

oh gosh, someone pleeease talk me into Enchant :S, seriously i think i would die if i had to level JC but i don't want to be making a bad decision

edit: Darn i think i might have to level JC AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

130 AP to wrists. Agi skill is cata skill level. The tailoring proc rate makes it an average of ~80 AP extra aswell.

All WotLK profession perks were pretty level across the board but Jewelcrafting and Blacksmithing gave a bit of variation on the stats you could use (LWing and Enchanting are only AP/Stam/SP).

As Yow says JC is strongest with extra 2 Agi + Subs 30% + 5% leather armor specialisation.

I like being able to cut all my own gems, pretty much got all the useful designs and can cut for all my other chars.

Fun fact: http://www.wowhead.com/spell=60584 Superior leg armor from LWing stays active after you drop the profession so you could drop it for JC and still get the extra AP and Crit. Shame I found out after getting **** loads of JC patterns otherwise I would have dropped JC temporarily to do so!

i will be getting LW then, and ill decide what i want my other one to be after, thanks for this

JC gives way more variation than just simple AP. As mentioned in the "Berserk or Mongoose" poll thread, Agility gives crit and dodge as well. The ability to be able to use other gems (like for a resilience set or whatever you like) means it is far more useful overall.

Also you are not relying on a proc (with the Tailoring enchant for example). Then the Agi will also scale with buff as well, etc...

In short, go JC.

For a secondary I've never been married to the necessity of JC as the requisite engineering.

Swordguard embroidery is good but a proc, LW is good, BS is good. Of the three I think LW is the easiest of them to level to get the perk you need. You only need 400 or 405. JC is indeed a nightmare to do. However if you don't have a JC and want to cut for multiple toons it's great.

One of the easiest options though is inscription and the shoulder enchants are sick. Level 85 quality. I really don't think you can go wrong with any of them. I know people here like to say one is better than the other but face it, we're the top 1% of OCD gamers and most 70's don't even do professions or enchant/gem. So, yeah.... we're all kinds of good for having 2 profs.

lw-ing also a good prof to have, incase gloves of immortal dusk recipe drops

i would but i have a friend who has the pat, and can make me them, and i don't think the market for them is huge on my server

EDIT: i've decided to go LW for the legs, and then drop for enchanting

This might be true but BiS is BiS.

i believe the dropping of the prof after you get the lw-ing leg chant does not work anymore, may be wrong tho. if it does that would be pretty leet.

If you wanna be perfect. Engi+ LW.... then drop LW after u get the bis leg chant... then get JC.

if you wanna be halfassed... Mining+Herb like a boss.

How do you know the LW leg chant still works?

I just thought that because of the LW legs i wouldn't need to get the JC but i guess i will because of everyone getting mad about it not being BiS lol.
