What software to make pvp/pve movies?

Fraps + GOOD hdd that actually can accept the speed and its not a joke. some of them are freezing sometimes - not an expert in it, something like buffering and it reduces the fps to 5-10 for 0.5sec. good one - st1000nm0011 partitioned to 3 parts ~ 300 Gb each. st3500630as is a good one also. wd1003fbyx is sh*t and freezing, same with st1500dl003 (maybe because its not partitioned) and st3120827as.

Those what i have(st1000nm0011+st3500630as) can support Frapsing at ~60 FPS x 1280*1024 without any freezes

For effects i would recommend Sony Vegas, but operate with only uncompressed files to not lose quality . After your movie is ready be sure that its resolution is something around 1600-1900 x 1080 ( the 2nd number is very important, because if youtube or any other video hosting will see the resolution at something ~1152*864 it will resize it to 480p which is really crap)

my jerry copy of windows doesn't have it

using a canadian stripped down version of XP called Winborg

XP TILL DEATH

Canadian till DEATH.

I would say Fraps is the only viable option atm, i really haven't seen anything else come up that works even close to as well. Of course you have to "buy" it to make clips longer than 30 seconds. Make sure you clear out your hard drive though, fraps files basically start at 2gb and go up. Biggest one i had was around 79gb or something ridiculous. Also watch out for it splitting your clips into multiples.

E: Sony Vegas is a very useful tool for editing, only downside is its a memory *****. Also it doesn't work with nearly any apple format of clips (means no iphone video editing).

2 others you might want to try because vegas is just a little crazy at first (it has 10k+ things you'll probably never use for WoW videos) is VideoPad, and Roxio Creator. I've used these 2 and they are basically Windows Movie Maker's that actually work. VideoPad is extremely basic and essentially drag and drop for everything, downside is not many effects but with a WoW clip you don't really need that. Roxio has slightly more features but is a little more difficult to use.

Good luck on your filming.
