resto shaman gear

Ive been looking into it, through whats coming up and currently is. And I have decided to make a resto shaman. Its is alliance and most likely will remain there.

What im wonder is, because of the lack of resto shamans in the 19 bracket, what is the BiS gear to date (eg. what is available NOW). Also what enchants on those pieces...

Thanks for your time,

Resto shammys suck at healing even if their bis, so never mind having alliance only gear. Your gonna have to faction change to horde and back to alliance. Or to save mOney, start a horde shammy and after you hit level 19 and have all gear you need xfer to alliance.

I would keep an eye on Dasfizzla. He switches between Resto, Elemental, and Enhancement a lot.

i 2 like to make twinks nearly a year before they r possibly viable

"viable". Tell me how they are not.

they have no quick heal and their long heal hits for like 300 tops

i mean u could prob do 'ok' in some pugs but thats assuming the team is imbalanced in ur favor

lol 300 tops? but yeah, they are decent in pugs. I am going to get used to the play style before MoP

same build as a ele-spec

as for gear, to really have a nice ele/res spec you imo will have to faction swap to horde and then back cause you are favoring being alliance. my recommendation to save money start the shaman on horde side get the gear and then swap to alliance.

there are more res shams appearing in BGs, they are not as weak as stated. have seen them out heal priests/paladins and go zero deaths on a losing team. out of 5 healers today in a BG res-sham was #2. many were flaming as we tried to kill the EFC over and over and failed. people were saying a res-sham should be easy to kill....he was not.

yeah they don't have heal shocks and renews...but they have earth shields stacks of them they can place on players. they heal on each attack. despite the res sham main heal being show, it is pretty well much near uninterruptible

from what i have seen on holy paladins lately many of them have no hit. they are crit/haste stacking and pully off insane #'s on heals. guess heals don't miss on friendly targets. saw BODA (spelling?) from guild chosen few, pull 85000+ heals in a BG, i inspected....not one spec of hit.

using

wild rider's gloves w/haste

haste satchel cloak

cloth BOA helm haste/crit (see alot of ele-shams using it too)

aquisition bracers

merger boots

stillwater's signet

haste may be the key to making a res-sham heal faster

In all honesty though, if you're planning on rolling a Resto Shaman to heal others then I would recommend rolling anything but a Resto Shaman, such as a Holy Paladin, Priest ... anything else. Don't get me wrong, Resto is fun to play around with every now and then but it's really only good in some cases(duels for sure, FCing definitely), but healing a bunch of players in wsg; it's just no good. With the amount of burst in the bracket your heals can't even keep up at all. I mean if you know what you're doing I guess you could be somewhat(and I say this loosely) viable but you'd be way more useful as Elemental, or you could be dedicated towards FCing as Resto, I can be one to confirm it's quite effective, nicer than Elemental in my opinion.

Playstyle will change from how Cata plays now.

Riptide instead of Earth Shield, gotta get used to that

Purge might be gone

Repulsion instead of Earthbind <- tricky for new shamans because you have to remind yourself where the totem will be placed. you don't want to put it where it will push the opposing side forward instead of backward or vice versa.

Start getting used to cleansing magic debuffs as a 19 again.

just in a BG now, and one of the res-shams that has been playing last couple of days rolled again.

sloppyheals, player was #2 healer (died only twice)on a pug team again over 4 priests, second behind a holy paladin. 2 rogues couldn't kill him and EBT helped him just walk away and rehealed everytime

res-shams once they start the heal kicks don't seem to interrupt, and while healing they are in a reduced damage received stat and receiving heals from stacks of ES. their heals are way more than the 300 a poster claimed above.

rolling a res-sham in gear is pretty damm near ele-spec, you don't like res....respec.

holy-pal is easy mode, they are same as hunters
