• I recently noticed an increased number of people interested into the 39 bracket so i think many people will find this useful.

In my opinion it is Best in Slot gear for mage but i might be forgetting something. If so let me know in the comments! Also notice that even though this is a mage gearing guide it is a very good start for gearing any offensive caster (such as Shadow Priest,Warlock and to some extend Elemental Shaman and Moonkin) and you'll find a lot of use in this even if you're not a mage!(hopefully)

This is the Chardev of the BiS gear:

What you can replace from that list easily before you get the right pieces:

Stoneweaver leggings instead of Necromancer leggings

Inquisitor's Shawl instead of Tattered Dreadmist Mantle

Whitemane's Chapeau instead of Tattered Dreadmist Mask

Ring of Demonic Guile instead of Underworld Band

Staff of Jordan instead of Dignified Headmaster's Charge

Heart of Noxxion instead of Arena Grand Master

Gloves of Shadowy Mist instead of Revelosh's Gloves of the Eagle

    F.A.Q. :

Q:Why should i enchant my weapon with 22 Int and not 30SP?

A:Int gives SP and Crit!Crit is of the most important stats for Mages,it allows them to build more pressure and be more effective.

Q:Why do you enchant almost everything with stamina?

A:It's cause even though mages in this bracket are excellent kiters, upon being touched they have real problems with survivability. You want as much stamina as you can get while keeping SP and Crit relatively high.

Q:Is that much Spell Penetration enough to never get resists?

A:Flat out,No it's not.Sometimes you will get your spells resisted but those times are counted in the fingers of your one hand.

Q:Does the armor a piece have matter?

A:Yes it does but stats "shows" if you're going to equip it!

    Q:Why shouldn't I get AGM x2 ?

A:Because the effect of Heart of Noxxion is really good against rogues (which gives everyone a hard time!) and you lose only 1 stamina for that. Moreover It's not only you that wants this trinket, don't be selfish about it!Especially since It Is not BiS if equipped twice.

    Q:What about haste?

A:Haste is useless, for It Is on limited Items that gimp your stats and even then, you can't stack it high enough to worth it.

    Q:But I am not a human!

A:All that changes is that you need AGM and BoA PvP trinket instead of the Heart of Noxxion!

    Q:What about proffessions?

A:First you'll need tailoring to craft Robe of Power. After that you'll want to end up having mining (For the extra Health) and Herbalist (For the excellent haste buff!)

Q:Where from can I get all this gear?

A:Wowhead is your friend in this.

I want your feedback in this guys!

    Do i forget something?

    Anything i can do better?

    Anything wrong with the guide?

    Let me know!

Aren't there rings that have 7 stam 7 int 7 crit that would be better for mages? If crit is so important then why not chant your gloves with 10 crit? Since you aren't worried about the hit cap, if you did this, you would increase your crit by 24. Doesn't seem too bad if you are going to only lose 6stam and 6int. Just my 2 copper.

The ring choise is a controversial subject.Right now i use the 7/7/7 ones but that's cause I can't find the epic ones. You can argue that both can be BiS depending on playstyle of the mage though. That's true

I am too afraid of losing 20 SP for Crit or Hit.That's cause i started playing against BiS geared people in arena when i had bad gear (200 SP & 2400 HP) then as my gear increased and especially SP the difference was huge! And that made me evalueate SP above all, cause of the huge impact it has!

Also let's not forget glyphed Molten armor effect.

Last but not least you'd lose 27 SP 60 mana 60 HP and get an extra 2,71% crit which don't get me wrong It's good but I don't think its worth.

Let me know what you think.

honestly mages have enough pressure and damage you really should get the hit dropping 20sp isn't to bad however a instant pyro(fire)or a frost nova/coc or a sheep could cost the game in arena.

    edit

woops forgot 150hp doesn't show on chardev

So far I haven't missed anything pretty much even against Night Elves.

It's true though that missing poly or nova can get a lot of troubles though.Still doubting it worths droping that much SP
