  • Just left the bg where you were farming horde gy. I respected you but now...

That game was barely farming, we 3 capped. Not like it was a 2 cap and hold the flag to maximise HKs. More like GY camping to protect the flag.

Now this game on the other hand from earlier today...

    That's farming.

Farming is part of the game. I have no moral objection to it. It's mostly hunters doing the farming. I tend to hang back near the road. If stealthers or melee come down, I attack. Otherwise I just sit there. I rarely take the flag. I usually prioritise killing the EFC over our own flag running, and keeping people at one end of the field by killing them as they spawn is an effective tactic.

If I don't like a game, for any reason, I leave. Feel free to do the same.

I should i apologize. sorry. but still i did see you at the bottem, of the gy. you could at least told your team mates to get away from the gy.

My experience of PuGs is that they rarely listen. If I do try and get the flag, there is always a hunter up top or stealthers waiting to gank/CC me to death. That and the lag issues make my running the flag an unattractive prospect. I usually try to just go with whatever the group does. If someone asks if I want to farm or cap I tend to be non-commital, because either way is fine by me. It's fine to keep going if people keep ressing, but pretty pointless if it's only one or two.

I don't like kale but he has a point, killing them as they spawn is an effective tactic and I know 19s, 70s and 85s use this tactic as well so you can't really hide from it in any bracket.

I agree it's a tactic, but using it goes against the reason why twinks wanted their own xp off brackets. I don't see this as competitive but more exploitative. Not ZOMG wtf expoitz! More, taking advantage of a poorly designed zone. Same as how NE females used to be able to squeeze up above the Ally flag spawn point and be unreachable, or the jump on the pots and get to a hard to reach spot above ally flag room. Those were deemed exploits because someone took advantage of the terrain in the zone, this may not be a jumphack, but it is still an advantage gained due to the terrain.

Anyway. Like I have said before. I play for the objectives, cap flags, hold nodes, ect. So gy camping, or 5 cap and zerg and hem in at the starting zone in AB are both cheap tactics to me.

Twinking is supposed to be a place where one would showcase their skill, not employ lazy tactics.

    Edited for spelling fail.

Firstly, Blizz forced XP off into their own bracket, and it was an attempt to make leveling BGs more balanced and enjoyable. All it did was give rise to the BoA brigade in BC chants stomping noobs. That said, random PuG games are random. Anything from boring GY farm fests while someone holds the flag and refuses to cap so they can farm the one bot that keeps ressing to intense action packed evenly matched and enjoyable games where what you do has a real impact on the outcome of the game. Of course there's also matches where your team is junk or the other team is OP or full of ranged or 24s or healers when you have none.

Blizz changed the design of WSG to prevent FCs from standing at the GY and then capping. If they do that now, they have to go through tunnel or ramp. In the same way that WSG no longer lasts for hours, only 25 minutes.

Premade vs premade is a test of skill. What usually ends up happening though is that it's premade vs random. Unsurprisingly, the organised group that sticks together and has multiple heals triumphs over the disorganised rabble marching single file to their deaths, and the failure of their team.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against premades, but let's not pretend it's a showcase of skill. There's a reason that <insert junk spec/class> is viable in an organised group, it's because anything is viable if you're chain CCing, focus firing, and sticking together like glue, never getting too far from heals, and running back into the pack if it looks like you might be in danger.

Personally, I'd rather have faster pops than be in XP off, but that's just me. I don't expect Blizz to change anything though. It's basically working as intended right now.

Farming is part of the game. I have no moral objection to it. It's mostly hunters doing the farming. I tend to avoid getting killed so I hang near places where I'm least likely to die. Otherwise I just sit there. I rarely take the flag because that might mean I need to afk out. I usually prioritize not dying over our own flag running, and keeping people at one end of the field by killing them as they spawn is an effective tactic for making sure I don't need to AFK yet.

If I start to die, for any reason, I leave. Feel free to do the same.
    Fixed.

Aradiel, don't take this as me trying to school you on How2PVP or anything like that, just trying to debate the point

I don't see the validity of paralleling Teamwork with GY spawn camping. People can overcome opponents' teamwork by improving their own team's teamwork, even in PUGs, especially in an XP off bracket where people are (usually) trying to improve on their PVP talent.

Saying that Premading (which is really just guaranteeing teamwork) is exploitative, is excessive. The XP off bracket is a Twink bracket. If you are under-geared and losing then QQ, but if you are beaten by players who are performing their roles better then sorry, but chalk that up to a learning experience. Premade != autowin. WSG and AB are fairly simple games, therefore the strats are simple. The game within the game for AB and WSG is maximizing your ability with your character, when to stun, when to heal, when to kite ect.

I thought there was to be no more @Name threads? If you want to complain about someone do it in a PM don't stink up the forums with your qq bullshit please!

IAT: I die all the time, and often repeatedly in a single match, if there's a reason to, like my enjoying the game. The main reason I leave is an incompatible play style with the people on my team.

OMG: I wasn't suggesting premades are exploiting anything, simply that they aren't a showcase of skill. Also, 20-24 XP off isn't entirely a twink bracket. It's also full of genuine noobs and casuals.

Ark: Absolutely. Pointless thread. Topic of farming or not has been covered before, as has calling people out for it.

Like I said, farming is part of the game. I don't have a problem with it. Nothing anyone does here will change it. That SS shows every single one of those people being from a different realm. In the SS game I was the only one that uses TI. At one point the horde side was 9/10 hunters, all being GY farmed. The game I was in with the OP was definitely not farming. The flag was being run the entire match.

    Fair point.

And I didn't even really look at the SS. It is actually kinda funny to see that hunters got camped. Hopefully some of them quit.
