Gnome vs Human

Kitn

Legend
I've been skeptical about what truely is the better race for priests / mages.

Gnomes:

increased mana/sp

19 arcane resistance

escape artist (doesnt share CD with trinket)

and insta bombs (although most will go herb/skin)

Humans:

2 minute trinket

3% spirit increase

gud looks

It's obvious what race is better.

Inputs?

Human is better for a priest.

For a mage, they're quite even. Human is probably better though.

2 min trinket is the best possible racial when the pvp trinkets have a 5 minute cd.

true, but you can 2 minute trinket right into another CC. its not game breaking.

Horde have alot of arcane mages running around, so the 19 resistance is crucial.

despite the 2 minute trinket- gnomes escape artist is 1.5 mins and can be used on any slow.

I'd rather get out of a 9 sec polymorph and get a shield off than getting chain cc'd with 3 straight polymorphs into imp. cs without being able to trinket.

Removing a slow isn't that good. 2 min trinket is a lot better.

Gnome is better for the resist, better then a 2min trink, and people dont know how to tab target.

this

I thought they only got a bigger mana pool and not more sp?

Oh but ya i don't think escape artist as good as it looks lots of situations where snares can be recast before you outrange, I guess its really good if your right on the edge of cc, but human racial can do that and more on 30 sec longer cd...

But damn i want some arcane resist...

As far as priests go, it's hard to justify not going human when you are going to get cc'd so often.

I made a Gnome Mage and escape artist snit Ideal. Most of the time, like Nems said, they reapply the snare straight away so you only gain a few yards.

However the 19 resistance would provide an advantage and being smaller makes you harder to target.

Humans obviously win as they're bigger and can pick up larger weapons

I'd say humans have better survival but with gnomes you can do a higher overall damage so I suppose it depends on what you like =]

maybe you don't know this since you are horde, but belfs resist 4/5 polys.....

so if you were gnome, you would resist the same amount +keeshans lolololoolol never get poly'd.

as for your second statement you can use escape artist and trinket right after another.

You can't say belves resist 4/5 polys when it's completely rng-based. And when the poly finally hits, you sit there for 8 seconds, crippled, as you watch your flag carrier die.

Polymorphs, stuns and fears have diminishing returns. Unlike snares. If you trinket a polymorph and get insta-polymorphed again, you're only sitting there for 3 seconds and the next one will be even shorter. If you escape artist a frostbolt you'll get hit by another one and there will not be any difference.

I'm gnome on my mage, the reason behind that is cause I think escape artist goes very well with blink. The chance is lower you'll get a slow re-applied on you if you blink 20 yards away.

Races are just personal opionions though. I do see your point, but I think mine is stronger and I will stick to it.

So why would the resist be useful.

the ability of spamming arcane barrage..

significantly lowers the dmg taken.

also people make too big of a deal of 2 minute trinket. like i said earlier, you can trinket into multiple more CCs, HoJ or gouge or even arcane torrent which is used alot and crutched upon. (which can be resisted highly if you are a gnome)
